Just 50 minutes from Perth, Mandurah is known for its picturesque beaches, tranquil canals and laid-back atmosphere, making it the perfect destination for a relaxing day trip. And with stunning waterfront views and a backdrop of cosy cafes and irresistible pastries, Mandurah’s breakfast is well worth the trip.
For nothing but the best, here are our favourite cafes in Mandurah.
Mataya Restaurant
20 Sholl Street, Mandurah, WA 6210

For a touch of tropical paradise, step through the coral pink doors of Mataya Eatery, a café that passionately supports local producers and businesses. The menu changes regularly, but you can expect treats like homemade bread, acai bowls and flaky pastries, all served with Will & Co. coffee. If the savoury jalapeño crumpets with tequila relish are on the menu, we say it’s a no-brainer.
Lily Paris
4 Zephyr Mews, Mandurah WA 6210
French food for breakfast? Yes, please. Lily Paris offers a tantalizing selection of delicious breakfast treats, including sweet and savory crepes, a fluffy croque madame (a super-fancy grilled ham and cheese sandwich), and filled omelettes. The main course? French toast made with buttery croissants, fresh oranges, orange purée, salted caramel sauce, vanilla custard, and walnut crumbs.
Frisky Deer Interiors and Cafe

Part cafe, part breathtaking homeware and fashion store, Frisky Deer is a must-try on your Mandurah itinerary. Founder and owner Dee sources local and international produce to bring the best textiles, baskets, ceramics, skincare and clothing to the West Coast and we couldn’t be more grateful. Coffee is from Humblebee and cakes are freshly baked by Dee’s incredibly talented sister, with recipes passed down through generations.
Foamy coffee
99 Pinjarra Rd, Mandurah WA 6210
Foamy coffee is a godsend in the world of caffeine. The good folks (and true coffee nerds) roast the beans in an Italian wood-fired roaster and use a traditional lever machine for their shots. The result is pure perfection. Our advice? Don’t leave without bringing home a bag of your favorite beans: filter, single origin, blends, and decaf. They’ve got it all.
Coffee Cove

This The cafe is perhaps the most delightful we’ve ever seen with its charming interiors, sunflower-painted wall and array of sweet and savoury treats. Whatever the flavour, the muffins are to die for, as are the croissants, homemade sausage rolls, bagels, slices, wraps and sandwiches. The coffee is also perfect.

Wood & Stone Cafe
2/38 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah WA 6210
For a hearty breakfast all day long, Wood & Stone is the place to be. We recommend starting with a cup of tea before perusing the menu – it’s going to be a tough choice. If you’re on the healthy side, the Woody Bowl with poached eggs, beet hummus, grains, kale and black beans will do you good. For people like us who like to indulge, the waffles with Southern fried chicken, bacon, smoked Southwestern honey and whipped butter should be the only option.
DPM Cafe

This hole in the wall The cafe overlooking the coastal waters is home to some of the best beers in Mandurah and beyond. The menu is small, but what it lacks in variety it more than makes up for in quality and flavour. Dishes include pimped avocado with eggs, cream cheese and dukkah, a breakfast muffin, a cream cheese and jalapeno bagel and chia pots. The cold brew also deserves a spot on your list.
Tree of Life Cafe
31 Sholl Street, Mandurah, WA 6210
Breakfast at The Tree of Life is a rite of passage in Mandurah. There’s a ton to choose from, so let’s dive right in. The maple-sweetened bacon, homemade chilli jam, poached eggs, avocado and salsa verde served on artisan bread is a hit, as are the chargrilled corn and chilli fritters and the stack of apple crumble pancakes. Bring a friend who likes to share.

This beautiful little The café serves up some seriously good food and pretty Instagrammable drinks. You guessed it: strawberry matcha is a big deal. You can get your hands on stuffed bagels, smashed avocados with feta, smoothie bowls topped with Biscoff, and revolutionary cakes.
Fresh dishes
3/52 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah WA 6210
The aim of the game is to deliver fast food with style. Cool Eats where you can grab a bite to eat and drink a Yahava coffee while looking out over the crystal clear waters of Mandurah’s coastline. For food, choose from toasted Turkish buns, avocado toast and bacon and egg rolls. This place is totally laid back and we’re 100% here for it.
