Ashfields Grill 4 320g Garlic & Herb Chicken Skewers have now been removed from display.

It comes after a ‘labeling error’ saw the incorrect use-by date printed on the packaging.

The recalled items were dated July 9, and Aldi is offering affected shoppers a full refund.

An Aldi spokesperson confirmed: “As a precaution, our supplier is recalling Ashfields Grill 4 Garlic & Herb Chicken.
Kebabs 320g as a small number of products had an incorrect use-by date of 9 July applied.

“No other products are affected.

“Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.”

A statement from food.gov.uk read: “Aldi is recalling Ashfields Grill 4 Garlic and Herb Chicken Skewers due to a labeling error which shows an incorrect best before date, making the product unfit for human consumption.”

They advised customers to “don’t eat” the product and return it to the store where they purchased it.

It follows an urgent recall carried out yesterday by supermarket titan Tesco.

Urgent Warning: Grocery Item Recalled in 15 States After Salmonella Found in On-Sale Packages

The supermarket warned shoppers that two chocolate bars had been removed from shelves over fears people with nut allergies could be at risk.

Anyone who bought the Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bar Multipack, 6 x 40g, has been warned there is a risk peanuts may not be listed as an ingredient due to ‘poor packaging’.

This makes it a risk for anyone with a peanut allergy.

Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Multipack Chocolate Bars, 6 x 40g, have also been recalled for the same issue.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “There is a risk that peanuts may not be declared as an ingredient in the product.

“This poses a possible health risk to anyone with a peanut allergy.”

The recall expiration date for Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bar Multipack is February 28, 2025.

Meanwhile, the recall expiration dates on the Dreamy Caramel chocolate bar multipack are January 31, 2025 and February 28, 2025.

Tesco advised customers to “do not consume” and return the product to their stores for a full refund.

The industry giant also said no receipts would be required.

Your Product Recall Rights

Product recalls are an important way to protect consumers from dangerous goods.

Generally, if a recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer will usually have primary responsibility for the recall action.

But it often falls to supermarkets to warn customers when products could put them at risk.

If you are concerned about the safety of a product you own, always check the manufacturer’s website to see if a safety notice has been issued.

When it comes to household appliances, rather than just food products, it is usually up to you – the customer – to register the appliance with the manufacturer, because if you didn’t, there was no no way to contact you to inform you of a defect.

If you find that an item you own has been recalled or has a safety advisory issued against it, be sure to follow the instructions given to you by the manufacturer.

They should usually provide you with more information and a contact number on their security notice.

In some cases, the manufacturer may ask you to return the item for a full refund or arrange for collection of the defective product.

You should not be charged for any recall work, such as repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item.
