Aldi wipes out Coles and Woolies in fruit and vegetables

A supermarket chain has been declared the clear winner when it comes to its fruit and vegetable range.

For the third year in a row, Canstar Blue has awarded Aldi the Most Satisfied Customers – Supermarket Fruit and Vegetable award, with the supermarket achieving five stars in four out of five categories.

Categories included overall satisfaction, value for money, freshness, presentation and variety, for which Aldi scored four stars.

Woolworths scored four stars for overall satisfaction and value for money, three stars for product freshness and five stars for variety and presentation.

Coles scored four stars across the board except, like Woolworths, just three stars when it came to product freshness.

The other supermarket included in the results, IGA, received three stars in three categories, but received four stars for product freshness and five stars for department presentation.

“Such recognition is only possible thanks to the Australian producers in our network. Our shared commitment to providing the highest quality fruits and vegetables at low prices means our customers never have to compromise on getting fresh produce in their carts,” said Matt Atley, Director of Group Purchasing. of fruits and vegetables at Aldi.

Christine Seib, editor-in-chief of Canstar Blue, said competition in the category was intensifying and while some improved their performance, “they couldn’t outperform Aldi”.
