Asian cuisine week: connect crops to food
Cincinnati (Wxix) – The week of Asian Cincinnati cuisine returns for its sixth year with more participating restaurants and, hopefully, more guests.
Similar to the week of Cincinnati Burger or the Cincinnati Chile Week, the Asian cuisine week brings a wide variety of flavors from 13 different countries.
More than 47 Asian restaurants in northern Kentucky and Cincinnati will participate in the heavy week of food from Monday March 3 to Sunday 9 March.
Koji Sado, member of the board of directors of Asianati, says that the event not only links people to Asian cultures, but also helps small businesses.
“Asian cuisine is more than a simple food event; It is a celebration of the diversity of the Asian community of Cincinnati and the food that connects our cultures, “Sado wrote in a press release. “We invite everyone to embark on a culinary journey while supporting our companies belonging to local Asians.”
The one-week event proved to increase local businesses by 10 to 15% compared to other weeks, according to the spokesperson for Asianati, Lam Dang.
“This increase is particularly crucial during the winter, a difficult season when restaurants often see the decline in pedestrian traffic due to colder weather and fewer people who dine,” Dang at Fox19 told. “By drawing attention to these companies belonging to Asian origin and by offering exclusive and limited -time dishes, the week of Asian cuisine helps to maintain and even develop their customers for a traditionally slow period. Beyond the immediate financial impact, it also creates long-term visibility, introducing new customers who come back well after the end of the event. »»
Asian cooking week began in 2020 as a way to help local Asian companies are mainly struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dang said.
“We knew we had to take measures to support and raise the incredible AAP-consutted restaurants in Cincinnati, presenting their various flavors and bringing more visibility to their businesses,” continued the spokesperson. “Today, Asian cooking week continues to grow, offering a platform that not only stimulates local businesses but also strengthens community ties in our city.”
For those who have never participated in Asian cooking week, Dang has advice for you.
The first advice: Try two to three different places.
“During Asian cuisine week, some restaurants serve food that is generally not on their menu, so it’s the only time you can try these specials,” Dang advised. “I love it because some of the Vietnamese restaurants, (like) Pho Lang Thang, quant hapa, etc., sell dishes that are more house cooked dishes from which I remember my childhood (I am Vietnamese), so I Use it’s a week to discover these dishes. »»
The second advice: be adventurous.
“Visit one of your reference favorites, but also get out of your comfort zone and try a restaurant in which you never went before. You could simply discover a new favorite and have a taste of the incredible diversity of Asian cuisine here in Cincinnati! »»
