With the summer season in full swing, it’s not just refreshing summer flavors warming up in Athens in June. Restaurants are coming with new seasonal options, summer events, new promotions and more. Find out all about it in this week’s restaurant roundup.
Farm Burger
On May 16, Farm Burger launched two new seasonal salads, now available at all Southeast locations, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
The “Farmer Salad” features local lettuce, arugula, cucumber, watermelon radish and seasonal tomatoes, topped with Parmesan and house-made buttermilk-dill vinaigrette. The “superfood salad” features local kale, black rice, radishes, strawberries, pickled red onions, feta and a honey-ginger vinaigrette.
Farm Burger partners with local farms like Whited Farm Produce, R Farm, Ga Proud Provisions and others to source ingredients, supporting regional agriculture all summer long.
Cafe Ellianos
Ellianos Coffee presents “Joy Shots”, now available in all stores. This shaken espresso, enhanced with caramel and cream, offers a smooth and exquisite taste, according to its Instagram.
Sip an espresso
New pastries, an Orange Dark Chocolate Chip Muffin, and a Butterscotch Pecan Chip Brownie are now in rotation at Sips Espresso. These pastries will be on and off rotation throughout the summer.
Andys Ice Cream
Andy’s Frozen Custard celebrates summer with berry-filled treats. Enjoy “Grandma Elaine’s Strawberry Shortcake Sundae,” available through July 9, featuring fresh strawberries and buttery shortcake atop vanilla cream. The “Blackberry Waffle-Jack Jackhammer,” available through July 23, combines juicy blackberries with crispy waffle cone pieces. Also try black raspberry chocolate chips in special quarts through Andy’s Anywhere’s takeout program. Enjoy these delicious fresh berry treats until you drop!

Open roof cafe
Sunroof Coffee introduces its range of summer drinks, including three refreshing options perfect for the hot weather. The message “Hey Arnold!” » combines cold brew, lemonade and a hint of lavender for a unique twist. The “Lemonade Stand,” a popular Earth Day special, features delicious matcha lemonade. Finally, the “Coco Mocho” is their classic cold brew latte, topped with homemade coconut syrup and chocolate. Guests are invited to visit Sunroof Coffee to enjoy these delicious summer drinks.
Hendershot
Hendershot’s Coffee and Café is hosting a Father’s Day event on June 16 called “Double Down For Dad.” Customers who purchase a two-pound pack of Hendershot’s Coffee will receive a free jar of PetPet Spice Blend. This offer is only available for online orders and quantities are limited, so customers are encouraged to act quickly.
Cafe Racer
Cafe Racer’s “Midweek Tweak” returns, offering free iced or filter coffee with any purchase, all day, every Wednesday. Customers can enjoy any size and accessories without any hassle, allowing them to customize their coffee exactly the way they want.
Taqueria Del Sol
Taqueria Del Sol is introducing four new Nashville specials for the week of June 11.
The “Baja Fish Taco” features beer-battered fish fillets with Mexican slaw and jalapeño-lime mayonnaise in a flour tortilla for $4.29. “Meatloaf & Two” features spicy jalapeño meatloaf served with tomato-habanero sauce with whipped potatoes and green beans for $13.89. The “Pescado Sundown” features blue cornmeal breaded and fried tilapia fillet, topped with poblano tartar sauce, served with herbed rice and jalapeño slaw for $14.99. Finally, the Grilled Chili-Honey-Lime Chicken Salad combines salad greens, julienned carrots and red peppers, crispy tortilla strips, seasoned roasted chicken, chili-lime-cilantro vinaigrette and a drizzle of spicy sauce peanut butter for $11.89.
Slaters Steakhouse
Through July 27, Slater’s Steakhouse is participating in Farm-to-Glass to benefit the Athens Farmers Market. Using fresh produce from local farmers and Cathead Vodka, bartender Jonathan Griffey created the “Scapeshift” cocktail.
The “Scapeshift” cocktail includes vodka, rose liqueur, basil brandy, roasted strawberry syrup, tomato water and lemon. For every Scapeshift cocktail purchased, one dollar will be donated to support the work of the Athens Farmers Market.
Ass Hutt BBQ
Butt Hutt is hosting “Butts for Mutts” to benefit the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter. They offer smoked Boston butts for $50 each, weighing between 8 and 10 pounds. Orders must be placed by Wednesday, June 26 at 4:00 p.m., with pickup scheduled for Monday, July 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the shelter.
Saucehouse BBQ
Saucehouse BBQ is hosting Crawfish Fest on Saturday, June 15th. The event will feature live music all day, with doors open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Guests can purchase crawfish by the pound or opt for an all-you-can-eat ticket for $30 in advance or $35 on the day of the event, which includes admission. Pre-sale entry is $5 for ages 12 and up, with day of entry $10, both providing access to hourly drawings. Attendees can also enjoy carnival games, including a dunk booth. Tickets are available at the restaurant now.
Southern Brewing Company
Southern Brewing Company is hosting a Game of Thrones Trivia Night on Friday, June 14 from 7-9 p.m. The event is free and open to teams of 1 to 4 people. There will be giveaways throughout the evening and specialty cocktails will be available for purchase.
People’s Pantry @ Figment
Figment’s People’s Pantry is adding Yammy Fruit Snacks which are perfect healthy snacks, according to its Instagram. Customers can collect them while enjoying Figment’s selection of draft kombucha.
Live Wire Athens
Live Wire Athens hosts Kinky Waikiki on June 18 during Tiki Taco Tuesday. The event will take place outdoors from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and participation is free. Guests can enjoy special rum drinks, including the famous “Jungle Bird” cocktail.
