Long before Tabitha Brown became the black queen of food seasonings, a beloved R&B king jumped into the culinary industry to do his thing. Remember back in 2014 when Bobby Brown launched his signature food line? At the time, the launch drew glares and jokes on social media, but the jokes fell flat. 10 years later, Brown Brown Foods remains a viable business with barbecue staples and a signature Bobby Brown sauce.

A generation considered Bobby Brown the king of the stage. His late wife, Whitney Houston, proudly proclaimed her husband the king of R&B.
Today, the Boston crooner’s loyal followers might call him a barbecue sauce entrepreneur.
The singer and former New Edition frontman has just launched a line of Bobby Brown Foods flagship products, including barbecue sauces, seasonings and mixes, all made from his own recipes. Available for mass consumption this fall, Bobby’s Original BBQ Sauce features flavors like Boston Blend Seasoning and Sweet and Spicy Sauce, which are ready to delight taste buds.
According to ESSENCEBrown has taken the reins of the home kitchen. In a statement released by Brown, he says he has been passionate about the culinary arts for ages and we are only just starting to catch up.
“I learned to cook a long time ago. When I was younger and I was punished, that was my punishment: I had to stay in the kitchen with my mother and learn to cook. It’s not something new for me, it’s been part of my life for a long time,” he says.
As the crooner brainstorms ideas for development around kitchenware and recipe books, the news has come with much excitement and support.
