Check out Melissa Gorga’s failed cake for Antonia Gorga’s 19th birthday
When it comes to her daughter Antonia Gorga’s birthday, Melissa Gorga always goes all out.
Last year, before Antonia headed off to the University of Delaware, the Gorga family gathered to celebrate Antonia’s 18th birthday and say goodbye to her with several family members and friends (watch the moment in the video above). At the party, Antonia was presented with a larger-than-life pink cake from JG Desserts that absolutely stopped us in our tracks.
This year, Melissa took matters into her own hands for Antonia’s birthday cake and the result was… well, we’ll let you decide.
On August 12, The Real Housewives of New Jersey A mom took to her Instagram Stories to share what she’s planning for her daughter’s 19th birthday, first announcing that she’s going “full-on Betty Crocker mode” with an at-home birthday party.
“I just baked a f***ing heart-shaped cupcake,” Melissa said, pointing to a heart-shaped chocolate cake cooling on the stove. “She wants a homemade chocolate cake,” Melissa said before winking at the camera.canned cake.”
Melissa later returned to her Stories to reveal how much she was struggling to cope with the situation. “Okay, I’m a disaster,” she joked. “The only thing I’m not good at is baking. Look at my cake!”
The Envy boutique owner then showed off her finished product: a heart-shaped chocolate cake topped with white frosting, blue piping and a few colorful sprinkles in the center. “Ok, I tried,” Melissa wrote alongside a photo of the cake.
Antonia also shared a photo of the cake that Melissa noted in her video that she decorated with “whatever I could find.”
“My mom said she was going to make me a cake… the cake in question,” Antonia hilariously wrote on a snapshot of the cake with long, thin silver candles.
OK, so maybe Melissa isn’t a top-notch baker, but she was confident in her preparation of dinner which included pasta and a delicious looking filet mignon.
“I can’t be good at everything!” Melissa wrote on a photo of her pasta dish. “But I’m good at this!”
We agree, Melissa.
Behind the scenes at Antonia Gorga’s 18th birthday
To celebrate Antonia’s 18th birthday, the towering pink cake was A little better designed.
A year ago, when the family celebrated Antonia’s milestone at Elia’s Mediterranean Restaurant in East Rutherford with friends and family, the recent high school graduate donned a pale pink minidress and tucked into a massive hot pink cake covered in rosettes and edible diamonds. The sweet treat was also topped with gold candles and a few sprinkles.
“Watching you grow has been such a blessing. You are my only little girl and I will cherish you forever,” Melissa wrote on Instagram in a post of the affair. Spread your wings and fly. In a few weeks my house will never be the same. I am so proud of you! Happy birthday my beautiful daughter (Antonia Gorga). I love you more than you know.”
