Chick-fil-A Maple Pepper Chicken Bacon Sandwich: Is it good?

Chick-fil-A just launched a new chicken sandwich! It’s not often that Chick-fil-A adds something truly new to its menu, so this is a big deal. Sure, it offers seasonal drinks, but the drinks are relatively safe and risk-free for both the customer and the restaurant. But new food? It’s a risk, and it doesn’t always pay off (just look at KFC Chizza).

Last year, Chick-fil-A gave us the Honey Pepper Chilli Chicken Sandwich. And while it wasn’t for everyone – Pimento cheese is by far the most divisive cheese – we found it pretty tasty.

Now, in 2024, Chick-fil-A has something a little more exciting in store for us: the Maple Chicken Bacon Pepper Sandwich. With all due respect to chili cheese, this seems a million times better. I mean, it has “bacon” in the name and that alone is enough to pique our interest. And it’s toast, which is exciting because it’s our opinion that we need more good grilled chicken sandwiches in the fast food landscape.

So, is the chicken, bacon, maple and pepper sandwich good? Here is the verdict.

Chicken, bacon, maple and pepper sandwich

Thoughts and Tasting Notes:

The version features grilled chicken breast on a toasted maple brioche bun, pepper jack cheese, green lettuce, pickles and bacon topped with brown sugar and pepper.

Holy shit, this sandwich is good. The flavors work in perfect harmony with each other, the chicken breast is tender with a blend of charred, herbaceous and slightly lemony flavors with pepper jack cheese providing a bit of heat and a smoky, sweet and fragrant peppery aftertaste thanks to maple. bacon. The maple bacon is a real highlight, rendered perfectly with an addictive blend of smoky and sweet flavors. It’s crispy, but melts in your mouth.

I am surprised by the quality of this sandwich. Before trying it, I thought that on paper it would probably make sense to make it with a spicy fried fillet rather than the grilled option, since it would be a combination of spicy and sweet, but after actually tasted the thing, I must suggest that you resist the temptation to have the fried chicken.

The bacon already provides all the crunchy texture you need. I also want to highlight the brioche bread this sandwich is served on, it is light, airy and buttery. This is by far the best bun on any Chick-fil-A sandwich, and I hope they replace the original white bread with bun on all their sandwiches.

My only complaint with this sandwich is the pickles. They don’t look out of place on this sandwich. Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t ruin my experience, but there is so much flavor in this sandwich just from the bacon and chicken tenders that you don’t really need the briny flavor that the pickles have. bring.

Still, it’s currently my favorite grilled chicken sandwich at any fast food restaurant and if it doesn’t get permanent menu status, Chick-fil-A is making a huge mistake.

The essential :

A must order. This is easily one of Chick-fil-A’s best chicken sandwiches and by far the best grilled chicken sandwich at any fast food restaurant.
