Closures from June 17, free breakfast, registration

Closures on June 16: In observance of Juneteenth, summer dining sites operated by Sapulpa and Tulsa Public Schools will be closed Wednesday. The Sapulpa Summer School will not take place that day and all TPS offices will be closed.

With all Tulsa County Library branches closed Wednesday for the holiday, lunch will not be available that day at the Kendall-Whittier, Martin Regional, Maxwell Park, Rudisill, Suburban Acres and Zarrow regional libraries.

Pass the pancakes: At Monday night’s meeting, the Sperry Public Schools Board of Education voted to offer free breakfast to all elementary students for the 2024-25 school year.

Registration assistance: Broken Arrow Public Schools will have registration assistance available Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 210 N. Main St. for bilingual families whose students are new to the district. To ensure appropriate translation services are available, families are asked to register in advance for a 30-minute slot at tinyurl.com/BAPSEnrollmentAid.

Help wanted: Broken Arrow Public Schools will host a job fair for support positions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at 701 S. Main St.

Checking the closet: McLain High School campus leaders announced Monday that the school’s uniform policy will be reinstated for the 2024-25 school year. Starting in August, McLain students will be required to wear closed-toe shoes, a polo shirt in one of the four school colors or a school spirit shirt to class, as well as uniform pants, shorts or skirts khaki or black. Black jeans will be allowed if they do not have holes.

Through a partnership with Assistance League Tulsa, all McLain students will receive a free uniform shirt on Back to School Night.

Academic aid request window: The Choctaw Nation is now accepting applications for its 2024-2025 Student Schools and Activities Fund through August 31 at chahtaachvffa.choctawnation.com. Students must be registered Choctaw citizens and be home-schooled or attend an accredited school, Head Start or day care to receive funds. Recipients will receive a $100 prepaid Visa gift card that can be used only at retailers selling clothing. Any unused funds left on the card will return to the tribe.

The Seminole Nation is accepting applications until September 30 for its School Clothing Assistance Program. Students must be registered Seminole citizens and include school registration documents with their application to receive a $200 prepaid Visa card. Applications are available online at tinyurl.com/SNOClothes

School board calendar: The Bartlesville, Catoosa and Tulsa school boards are scheduled to meet Monday.

The state’s CareerTech board is scheduled to meet Thursday, as is the Tulsa Legacy Charter School board.

The Epic Charter School board of directors is scheduled to meet Friday.
