Concerts at Moorhead’s Bluestem Amphitheater tap into different flavors this summer with cannabis seltzers – InForum

MOORHEAD – Concert goers at Moorhead’s Bluestem Amphitheater will have another drink option when attending shows this summer; cannabis-infused seltzers.

Described by Minnesota-based manufacturer North Canna as “lightly dosed” and “hangover-free”, the drinks are crafted to deliver “effervescent, uplifting and social” sensations.

These seltzers became legal in Minnesota in 2022.

While some have linked the drink’s Bluestem appearance to sold-out Willie Nelson shows on Monday and Tuesday, the canned drink makes its Chicago concert debut on Sunday.

“The appeal and inclusiveness of this product goes far beyond just Willie Nelson’s customers. Bluestem’s viewer demographics are as broad as the genres of our season, and we believe this product is suitable for programming. complete,” says Emily Finley, Director of Partnerships at event promoter Jade Presents, whose books are showcased at Bluestem.

“We can’t think of a more appropriate setting to enjoy a low-dose cannabis seltzer than at an outdoor concert. It gives concert-goers a non-alcoholic beverage option that enhances the experience without the gulp. wood,” said Brandon Savela, co-founder and CEO of North Canna.

Finley says North Canna reached out to Jade Presents as the Fargo-based promoter considered new drink options at Bluestem.

“With or without Willie Nelson shows, cannabis seltzers were on our radar, as they’ve already gained noticeable popularity in the community,” Finley says. “They are a new bar staple in Minnesota, retailed across the state, and an alternative for the sober and sober-curious community. Collectively, having an alternative non-alcoholic option for customers of all legal ages and demographics is the simple intent.

Finley says the drink will be available at most Bluestem concerts, except for the contemporary Christian music event, Thrive Fest in August. This show is a venue rental and Jade Presents is not in charge of marketing or concessions for this one.

Seltzers will be sold in the three concession areas alongside beer and wine. There will also be a dedicated venue where, for the Sunday, Monday and Tuesday shows, North Canna owners will talk about the product and offer samples. The seltzer flavors will be Pineapple Orange and Raspberry Lemon.

She says Jade Presents has already received questions about the product.

“The response so far has been equal parts positivity and curiosity, which we’re happy to hear,” Finley said.
