Detpak expands its range of eco-products to Southeast Asian and Middle East markets

Detpak, a South Australian packaging solutions company, is expanding its eco-friendly product range to markets in South East Asia and the Middle East.

The move introduces the brand’s largest selection of compostable and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS)-free products to these regions.

The Eco-Products in the Detpak range were previously only available in Australia and New Zealand.

Detpak general manager of product and brand Keith Bishop expects this expansion to complement its existing range of packaging solutions.

Bishop said: “In South East Asia and the Middle East, consumers are increasingly concerned about food waste and the disposal of used packaging and are more aware of composting and using more products made from recycled content.

“By expanding our product range into new and emerging international markets, we are striving to create a more sustainable packaging industry through compostable and plant-based materials that are better for the environment, such as the free range. PFAS Vanguard.

Detpak initially introduced the Vanguard range in late 2023, making it the first Australian company to offer a wide range of sugarcane products that are certified compostable and have no added PFAS.

Made from molded, renewable sugarcane fiber, the Vanguard range aligns with the growing demand for eco-friendly packaging solutions.

The Vanguard range uses a proprietary formulation to achieve grease resistance without the addition of PFAS, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional packaging materials.

Detpak and US-based Eco-Products began their partnership in 2021.

Eco-Products Chairman Ian Jacobson said: “Both companies have a strong strategic focus on delivering innovative and sustainable packaging solutions to the market and together we have unrivaled reach in our ability to identify and commercialize new innovative solutions that meet high sustainability requirements. requirements of the global foodservice packaging market.
