Does the new Soft Soft SUF Sub de Publix subpan are worth a change in your order?
Publix with a hot bar serving fried chicken wings in Palm Beach County
On nearly 50 Publix grocery stores in the county of Palm Beach, a Select 9 has wings at the hot bar on weekends. Is one near you?
Hoagies, heroes, subcontracts, feet, crushing.
Different parts of the United States have different names for the mainly an elongated sandwich.
In these regions, “Pub Subs” has their own currency. If you have already pre -ordered one online, after decided to stuff the cold cuts with chicken offers, the next personalization question is your preference for bread.
In 2023, Nick Pugliese, post Sportswriter, waxed rhapsodic on the tutto pugliese bread of the supermarket chain. Although he was not really named in his honor, he felt seen and loved his “roast” hazelnut taste.
A year later, post characteristics of journalist Nicole Danna shared a Tippy-Top secret: Tutto Pugliese was the ultimate sub-level because the whole breads could be cut for submarines. But to date, during pre -order, Tutto Pugliese does not automatically appear as an option.
On February 13, Publix launched a new offering in the official bread mixture with its soft sub-row. He joined the Italian options of five grains, whole wheat and hard white.
So, what is a “sub-sous” Lovah to do?
We move the Hénckel knife from Eddie to La Tarjay and have cut two halves of chicken tenders on a soft sub-roll and on a tough white. Read the rest for our reflections.

Eddie: “Old School and always love the original”
To be perfectly honest, the difference in sweetness was not as visible as I would have thought. This does not mean that the new soft roller was not soft, it was, but it is more that the original white roller was simply not so difficult.
If anything, the difference was more in taste for me. Although I am old school and I love the original, the new sweet roller had a slight sweetness that the original did not do. That said, it is possible that I would not have even noticed if I had not been able to try them against each other. If you wonder “what do you mean” sweetness “?” Think of King Hawaiian, but much more subtle.
The other difference was in the appearance of IS. The original is split vertically on top, while the new roller has a series of diagonal slits. It can be personal, but in terms of pure aesthetics, the new roller could be a little more “prettier”.
Now, in all honesty, it was about 50 minutes from the moment when our sub-technician Publix built the magnificent chicken submarine with spinach, cucumbers, banana peppers and vinaigrette and the time we ate it.
Time between construction and consumption could be something to consider. If you are going to eat your submarine immediately, that would probably make no difference. If, in our case, however, there will be time between the two, the original white roll seemed that it could be a little more durable.
With the ranch vinaigrette as the only condiment, it is not as if it was drowning in the sauce, but I noticed that the new roller was a little more subject to the tear. While the tear was barely noticeable, if you are the type of sub-sharing that loves Mayo, mustard, oil and vinegar, it could be something to take into account in your decision.
Did I like the new roll? Absolutely. Will I throw myself on the ground and have a cut if I have to settle for the original white roller, no.
Another small warning, if you count the calories, the new sweet sub-roll contains 510 calories as opposed to the original white at 470. If you eat a sub-mail of chicken, however, I suppose that 40 calories will not be a break. – Eddie Ritz
Diana: “more attractive, less friable”
I have always treated submarines as a special treat because of the crazy carbohydrates of the Meh bread which is only a book greenhouse for goods inside.
I tried the Tutto Pugliese bread from the start and I didn’t care. But with the exception of their sourdough, I do not care about most breads at the store house.
I fully agree with Eddie on nuanced sweet taste and pleasant appearance. The softness of the new sweet roller was increased by the tangy random vinaigrette and the salinity of chopped offers.
I had a piece on board that sounded better than the central section of his half, but it is really the nicest thing I can say. A dedicated Reddit thread also shows a lack of enthusiasm.
Would I choose this bread again?
I like that the half-roll is raised in iron, which I apparently need. And maybe if I was hosting a group that wanted submarines. The gentle roller is more attractive and less friable than the traditional white hard option.
Overall, a satisfactory sandwich. But next time, I would add the onion and I would try Nicole’s upgrade tour, but I was rather exchanging her pugliese tutto for a baguette.
If I can get it with that. – Diana Biederman
