Don’t feel like cooking? Here are some Elmira area restaurants open for Thanksgiving Day

Preparing a Thanksgiving feast can be a lot of work.

There’s a turkey to dress, roast and carve, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and other Thanksgiving favorites at prepare, cutlery to arrange, etc.

Aren’t you in all the fuss? Luckily, several Elmira-area restaurants will be willing to do the heavy lifting for you.

Here are some of the restaurants that will be open to the public on Thanksgiving:

  • Anthony’s restaurant: 760 W. Water St., Elmira (Clarion Inn), Thanksgiving Day buffet, noon to 5 p.m. Reservations required. 607-734-0402.

  • Hamlet Delights: 103 Sayre St., Horseheads, open Thanksgiving Day 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. 607-739-2888.

  • Hickory House Restaurant: 3543 Watkins Road, Horseheads, open noon to 4 p.m. Thanksgiving with buffet and made-to-order menu options. Reservation recommended. 607-739-2405.

  • Inn at the top of the hill: 171 Jerusalem Hill Road, Elmira, Thanksgiving Day buffet, noon to 4 p.m. Reservations required. 607-732-6728.

  • The Pick’s Pub: 101 Prescott Avenue, Elmira Heights. Open Thanksgiving Day for breakfast at 8 a.m., open the rest of the day for turkey dinner. 607-442-0444.

  • Stoney’s Casablanca: 912 Chemung St., Horseheads, open noon to 5 p.m. Thanksgiving. Reservations encouraged. 607-739-2272. Or search for Stoney’s Casablanca on Facebook.

Some national restaurant chains, like Cracker Barrel, will be open normal hours on Thanksgiving. Hours vary by location, but most McDonald’s locations will be open on Thanksgiving Day.

All Krispy Kreme stores will close at 2 p.m. on November 23. Although most Dunkin stores are open, store hours vary by location.
