Everbloom is a fanciful agriculture card with adorable animal villagers

When life becomes stressful, I like to watch videos of cute animals and play comfortable relaxed games, such as Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley and Coral Island. This is what attracted me to Everbloom, an upcoming agricultural SIM of the Torbia developer where players can plant crops and mine ore like a cute animal person in a more cute city. I had the opportunity to try a pre-alpha demo of the game on the day of the Devs event during GDC 2025, and even if it was clearly in progress, I can already have my lost hours in the city of Brambleton d’Everbloom.

Another type of farm animal

Everbloom does not deviate too much from the tropes of a modern agriculture card. The player created by the player, who can look like a fox, a cat, a dog or a wolf in the demo, is invited to Brambleton by his mayor, a bear named Herbert, who immediately gives you the act to Shady Glade Farm. It cries the pervasive state of the farm and the pines concerning the lack of heritage cultures for the Grand Heirloom festival. But given the apparent expertise of the protagonist in the growth of inheritance fruits and vegetables called fantasy, like lec -Corne, cornberries and Diablo peppers, he hopes that the next festival will go without a hitch.

From there, the game follows the familiar path followed by Stardew Valley. The new farmer should use a hoe to book on the ground, plant seeds and water them daily, while cleaning the land of rocks, logs and weeds. All these actions require endurance, which is restored by eating wild fruits or cooked meals on a campfire. The basis of tools, from the ax to the watering can, must be upgraded using specific types of ore found in the mines – sometimes an entrance appears on the farm after having broken a rock – before being able to erase certain obstacles, such as hardwood and rocks.

The sale of cultures will win a currency that can be spent in stores in the neighboring city, where most other villagers can be ready for a quick conversation or a gift that will improve their relationship with the newcomer. For other long -term lenses at the top of the Grand Heirloom festival, the town hall has special awards for players who can reach various objectives, such as giving gold, providing a variety of fish and deliver aging goods. In addition, the arboretum requires help to document all the plants and animals of the city. They are functionally similar to the Community Center in Stardew Valley and the Animal Crossing Museum.

When Everbloom separates the most from its agricultural counterparts is in the ability to have an impact on plant growth, which is one of the main means of cultivating inherited products. For example, the establishment of a stick of butter on corn crops will create popcorn plants, while corn fire will produce Diablo corn. Putting the pepper seeds when the clock tower strikes at noon makes peppers. Livestock can also be affected by what they have fed; For example, a cow that eats a lot of chocolate will produce chocolate milk of course. Indeed, the playful absurdities of the game are everywhere, and I am completely at the bottom.

In addition, this SIM of fantastic agriculture is designed to support the online multiplayer with up to four players. The developer on the spot said that it would work similar to the way Minecraft servers work, with players capable of passing and withdrawing from each other. To facilitate trading, some worlds could have a unique fauna and flora which are specific to their environment, like the woolly cow which is more likely to reproduce in the Highlands or an animal which has a specific line that the players want to have as a cross. If friends do not want to exchange articles in person, they can also send them to the mailboxes of the other.

Everbloom should be released on PC via Steam, although it does not yet have an official release date. The game tests for the game are later scheduled in 2025.

This overview is based on a pre-alpha demo provided by the publisher during the Day of the Devs event: San Francisco Edition during GDC 2025.
