Everything But Meals: Trader Joe’s 10 Best Snacks, Ranked | Arts

Trader Joe’s meals are nothing short of elite. From ready-made mac and cheese to microwaveable chicken tikka masala, Trader Joe’s has both range and quality to die for. Seasonal items like Honeycrisp Apple Scented Candles and Joe-Joe Pumpkin Spice Sandwich Cookies are often too fleeting, but impeccably designed to create a dedicated customer base that returns every year. Although the main focus has been on their innovative, convenient and inexpensive frozen meals, Trader Joe’s snacks also deserve recognition. Read on to discover ten of the staple TJ snacks from my personal pantry!

10. Mochi Ice Cream

A classic, with perfectly soft mochi wrapped around creamy, velvety ice cream. Updated with seasonal flavors too!

9. Scandinavian swimmers

I felt like I would get hate if I didn’t include this popular candy on a snack list. Personally, I prefer this to the Scandinavian Swimmers Super Sour, because the sour powder overwhelms the sweet gum.

8. Crunchy chili onion

It’s not strictly a snack, but it can be if you’re brave enough. I, for one, will be eating this straight from the can with a pair of chopsticks – which I understand is not a universal experience, but I choose to bring awareness to it regardless. This topping enhances many microwave meals, from ramen to leftover pizza. You do not believe me ? Prove me the contrary!

7. Lemon bars

Jammy, tangy and tangy, these frozen lemon bars are delicious with a light dusting of powdered sugar on top. The texture is exquisite, combining the gooey lemon with the buttery shortbread. This unique versatile treat can be enjoyed frozen or reheated!

6. Strawberry and Vanilla Greek Yogurt

Yes, it’s just plain yogurt, but there’s something about the ingredients that makes them so creamy and sweet. These yogurt snacks are perfect as a quick on-the-go snack or breakfast for all those late risers rushing out at 9 a.m., and the fruit pieces are deliciously flavored.

5. Mini mint and dark chocolate stars

The perfect snack size, this seasonal holiday offering thrives in places that aren’t too sweet. As the neutral party in the mint chocolate chip debate, the mint flavor is refreshing without being overpowering.

4. Mini (almost) everything bagel sandwich crackers

Unlike the mouthful of a name, these crackers are cute and small. At first I was wary of this wordy snack, but it was pleasantly crunchy, with a sour, cream cheese-adjacent topping. Despite their size, they pack a punch: as promised, each cracker tastes like a bagel all topped with cream cheese.

3. Dark chocolate bark with almonds, pretzels and sea salt

This delicious snack replaces dark chocolate peanut butter cups for its complexity of flavor and combination of deep chocolate and crunchy, salty pretzels – a better version of the classic.

2. Organic Cabbage Cacio e Pepe

Light and airy, Cacio e Pepe puffs are dangerously addictive. Reminiscent of the shape of Pirate Booty, these cabbages have a subtle and tasty flavor.

1. White Truffle / Everything But Bagel Seasoned Potato Chips

These two products, while very different, are tied for first place as similar chip products and among the best snacks Trader Joe’s has to offer. While the heavily seasoned bagel chips deliver a strong garlic flavor on a crispy, thick kettle chip, the white truffle chips are thin, delicate and finely dusted with aromatic truffle. They offer very distinctive flavors but are equally delicious, perfect for late night snacks or movie nights.
