Food Giveaways in Palm Coast and Deltona

Residents of Flagler and Volusia counties will have the opportunity to pick up free food items later this week.

Farm Share, a nonprofit organization that aims to help food-insecure residents in Florida, plans to distribute free, non-perishable fresh produce and canned goods in Palm Coast and Deltona.

On Thursday, organizers will join Inspiration of Hope community resources.

The September 21 event begins at 11 a.m. and will take place at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, located at:

On Friday, September 22, Nitty Gritty True Talk Ministries, Inc. and Farm Share will team up for a food distribution event in Deltona.

The start is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Centro Internacional de la Familia de Deltona, located at the following address:

Farm Share reminds guests that both events will be drive-thru only.

Participants must arrive in a vehicle equipped with a trunk or loading platform.

Additionally, food distributions will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will continue until supplies last.

Farm Share said it helps fight hunger “by working hand-in-hand with local farmers to recover and redistribute produce that would otherwise be thrown away due to cosmetic imperfections.”

Farm Share also distributes free food to communities throughout Florida, through soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, churches and senior centers.
