There’s no shortage of choice at Food Truck Tuesday in Larkinville, especially with six new vendors joining the lineup.
From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday from June 4 to August 27, there will be 20 food trucks from a rotating list of 38 at Larkin Square (745 Seneca St.) with live music playing.
From meatball subs to lobster rolls, vegan ice cream to protein coffee, new food trucks expand the already abundant choices of food and drinks available each week. Here’s an overview of what’s new.
Big Papa CreameryDuring the pandemic, third-generation barber Kole Kingsland watched a YouTube video of someone making ice cream and thought, “That looks easy.” So he bought an ice cream machine and started serving ice cream to his customers after cutting their hair. Eventually, Kingsland turned to creating ice cream full time. This is the third season of Big Papa’s Creamery and the first time at Larkin Square. Big Papa’s offers a dozen regular flavors – Salted Caramel Crunch is popular – and two or three dairy-free flavors. The lemon poppy, orange cream and blueberry flavors are vegan. Kingsland uses local, seasonal produce to create special flavors, such as strawberry balsamic pepper, peach and blueberry cobbler, and natural ingredients, including spirulina, beetroot and turmeric, to color the ice cream . Dessert worldBakers Anastasia and Pavel Shevchenko launched World of Desserts in April, inspired by beloved desserts from their international travels. Both are originally from Moldova and traveled throughout Europe before moving to Buffalo. Pavel is a college-trained pastry chef and Anastasia was a doctor and baker purely as a hobby until she received certification from an online pastry school in the fall.
