Here Are The 10 Most Missed Discontinued Fast Food Products

As fans of the iconic McDonald’s McRib know, it’s no fun when your favorite restaurant meal is taken off the menu or becomes a limited-edition item.

While fast food has nothing to do with gambling, online casino Spin Genie analyzed Google search data to find the most searched for discontinued fast food items.

Here’s a list of the most popular fast food items you can no longer order, as determined by how many people have Googled them in the past year.

Will McDonald’s Bring Back the McRibs?

The most searched for discontinued fast food product is McDonald’s McRib, which has been searched more than 300,000 times in the past year.

“The barbecue pork sandwich was first introduced in 1981 before being removed from the menu in 1985. The McRib returned to the menu in 1989, but was again dropped in 2005,” the study said.

“Fans can occasionally enjoy the McRib when it returns in season, but only McDonald’s menus in Germany and Luxembourg offer the sandwich as a main course.”

The second spot was marked by a sharp drop in search volume. Chipotle’s carne asada, which sits in second place, was searched for just over 130,000 times in the past year.

Here are the most missed discontinued fast food items and their search volume over the past year, according to Google search data:

Will Chipotle Ever Bring Back Carne Asada?

Chipotle’s carne asada debuted in 2019 and was an instant hit with fans. But it was removed from the menu in 2020.

“Although calls from fans have led the fast food restaurant to reintroduce the popular steak tender for limited periods, many believe it should be on the menu permanently,” the study said.

The last time Chipotle brought back its carne asada was in September of last year.

Will Taco Bell’s enchirito return in 2024?

Taco Bell hasn’t announced plans to bring back the enchirito this year, but there is a trick to ordering the enchilada-burrito combo, according to Spoon University.

“The beloved Enchirito was inexplicably removed from Taco Bell’s regular menu in 2013. It also returned for a limited time in 2022 thanks to a fan vote. But don’t worry, in 2024, you’ll still be able to order this fan-favorite enchilada-burrito mashup,” Spoon University’s website states.

“Most employees will understand exactly what you mean, but just in case, ask for an enchilada stuffed with beans, beef and cheese.”

Has Burger King eliminated salads?

Florida-based fast food chain Burger King removed salads from its menu in 2022, but some say there are still ways to order from the salad menu at some locations and that Burger King salads haven’t disappeared for Burger King locations internationally.

“Burger King in the United States stopped offering salads, including the Caesar salad, in early 2022. But if you’re looking for this salad item outside of the United States, you’re very likely to find it,” BurgerKingmenus.com reports.
