Here Are the Best and Worst Fast Food Restaurants in the United States, According to Customers
With over 200,000 fast food restaurants in the United States, you’re usually never far from a place where you can get a quick, cheap meal. If you’re a regular at these chains, you may have a favorite at each of the fast food restaurants in your city, as well as one that you avoid like the plague.
New report from Fast Company And Delicious We’ve compiled customer reviews of some of the country’s largest chains and found the best and worst locations of each across the United States. To do this, Fast Company We analyzed Google Maps reviews for each location in the United States and created a rubric that combined the average customer review score and the number of reviews to determine a ranking.
McDonald’s
According to customer reviews, the best McDonald’s in the country is in Eagle Pass, Texas at 2130 Main Street with a rating of 4.25. Tied for second place with a rating of 4.22 are MickyD’s in Calexico, California at 720 Imperial Avenue and in New Hyde Park, New York at 2045 Jericho Turnpike.
California and Texas appear to have the most popular McDonald’s locations, with the Downey, Calif., location at 10207 Lakewood Boulevard, and the Brownsville, Texas, location at 101 S. Expressway, tied for third.
Texas is also home to the most reviled McDonald’s in the country, located at 10042 South Zarzamora Street in San Antonio. The establishment has a rating of 1.37.
Burger King
Texas is also home to some high-quality Burger King restaurants. The highest-rated BK is in Houston at 3040 Ella Boulevard, with a rating of 4.60. It is followed by the Burger King in North Miami, Florida, at 12790 NW 7th Avenue, not far from the company’s headquarters in the tropical city.
Eagle Pass, Texas, is home to the third-best Burger King at 2280 East Garrison Street and the fourth-best in El Paso at 6085 Montana Avenue. The Doral, Florida, restaurant at 11400 NW 41st Street, also in the Miami area, comes in at number five.
As for the number one Burger King to avoid, avoid the one in Lexington, South Carolina, located at 4301 Sunset Boulevard, as it has a score of 1.42.

Taco Bell
Social media users might recognize the highest-rated Taco Bell in the country. Located in Pacifica, California, on the iconic Pacific Coast Highway, this establishment has a 4.42 rating and offers stunning ocean views while you enjoy your Crunchwrap Supreme. You can even grab an alcoholic beverage for a true beach day feel.
Texas once again has some excellent Taco Bell restaurants. The Brownsville location at 925 FM 802 and Harlingen location at 402 Dixieland Road are in second and third place, respectively, while the McAllen location at 420 S. 10th Street is in fifth place. The Taco Bell at 3509 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Union City, New Jersey, rounds out the list in fourth place.
If you’re in Central Florida, you might want to avoid the Deltona Taco Bell at 1519 Saxon Boulevard, as it’s the lowest-ranked in the country according to the data.
KFC
The best Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant isn’t actually in Kentucky, but in neighboring Indiana. The KFC at 637 East National Avenue in Brazil, Indiana, is the highest-rated KFC in the country with a 4.67 rating. It’s followed by the KFC at 501 South Main Street in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, 1301 Southern Hills Center in West Plains, Missouri, and 3970 Highway 411 in Madisonville, Tennessee.
California has the worst KFC in the country, and it’s located in a place many Californians hate: Los Angeles International Airport.
