WHETHER you’re eating healthy for the New Year or just looking for an effortless winter meal, this recipe may be for you.
One woman shared the creamy soup she swore by during her weight loss journey.
In her video, Hannah Burrow (@hannahkburrow) demonstrated how to prepare an easy meal.
“I lost over 175 pounds and this is one of my favorite casseroles,” the TikToker told her followers.
“It’s quick, easy, high in protein and low in carbs.”
For her first step, she recommended adding two or three chicken breasts to your slow cooker.
“Mine were frozen when I put them in, so if you use them thawed you can cut the cooking time down by about an hour,” Hannah explained.
Then she added a cup of chicken broth, a cup of hot sauce or Buffalo sauce, a packet of ranch seasoning, an onion, and two large diced carrots.
Hannah also suggested adding a stick of celery to the healthy recipe.
“Put a teaspoon of dill, a teaspoon of garlic powder, salt and pepper,” she explained.
“Cover and cook over high heat for four to five hours.”
Once the chicken was cooked through, Hannah shredded it and added half a cup of chicken broth, a block of low-fat cream cheese, and three-quarters of a cup of Greek yogurt.
She explained that while yogurt is optional, it adds extra protein and makes the soup creamier.
“Then you’re going to put in a third cup of diced pickled jalapeno peppers and a quarter cup of pickled jalapeno juice,” Hannah said, revealing that she uses tame peppers for “the perfect amount of spice.”
She let the soup cook for another 30 minutes to an hour, over low heat.
Before serving, Hannah added blue cheese crumble to each bowl of soup.
“The soup is delicious and great for the next day too, it’s packed with protein and flavor,” she concluded.
Hannah’s followers shared their thoughts on the soup in the comments section.
“Yum! This looks delicious, I have about 100-110 (pounds) to lose and I’m overwhelmed. This helps. Thanks,” one viewer wrote.
“Yeah, I’ll try that,” another impressed TikTok user commented.
