I paid £50 for my daughter’s first birthday cake, but the baker made a stupid mistake: people ‘can’t stop laughing’
A MUM has left people in hysterics after revealing the epic mistake a baker made while decorating her daughter’s first birthday cake.
Casie decided she wanted to order a cute cake for her daughter Nova’s birthday from an online site.
And when she got to the checkout, she had to write down instructions for what she wanted to put on the cake.
However, in a TikTok video, Casie revealed that her instructions were taken a little too literally.
“So I put that I wanted a heart, and then number one, and then I put in parentheses that I wanted a heart next to that one,” she explained.
They simply went and wrote a “heart next to that one” on the turned over cake. Are you kidding me ?
“I paid £50 for this cake!
“Why wouldn’t they have seen it and known I didn’t want that on the cake?
“I was just telling them I wanted them to draw a heart next to that one.
“No, because I’m absolutely angry right now. I don’t know what to do. Am I complaining about this or is it my fault?”
She added that she didn’t know what to do because the birthday party was “in an hour.”
In the end, Casie had to put strawberries and blueberries on the cake to cover up the extra writing.
“I know people would have thought it was funny, but I just thought you know what, just add strawberries,” Casie concluded.
“PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU CAN’T SEE WHAT I WROTE AND UNDERSTAND WHAT I WANTED,” she captioned the video.
But in the comments section, people admitted that the baker’s mistake had them laughing all day.
“I’m sorry but this is so funny,” one wrote.
“I find this hilarious,” added another.
“I’m sorry for you but I can’t stop laughing!”
“I’m sorry but the strawberries, blueberries and hollows in the cake are cracking me up,” laughed a third.
As someone else said: “They followed the instructions the same way you should.”
“They told me to write whatever you wanted on the cake. So you should have put the shape of the heart!!!”
“I’m sorry but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what I meant,” Casie replied.
“This is the first time I’ve ordered a cake anywhere and they should have contacted me to see what I meant!!”
“Oh my God, no way! At least it’ll be a funny story but I’ll definitely complain!” someone else wrote.
What are my rights if I hate a personalized purchase?
WHILE some insisted that Casie complain to the baker, what rights would she have to demand reimbursement for the mistake?
Well, according to the Citizens Advice Bureau, you “may be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement” if the item you purchased is:
- broken or damaged – this is called unsatisfactory quality
- unusable – it is said to be not fit for purpose
- This is not what was advertised or does not match the seller’s description
However, if the item has been damaged by wear and tear, or by accident or misuse, you will have no rights.
The Legal Documents website adds: “You have the right to cancel your order for bespoke or personalized products within a specified period of time, often 14 days from the date the order is placed or the date you receive the goods. »
While others revealed their own hilarious fails with personalized products.
“I received a personalized whiskey glass and thought I was being polite. After putting in my message, I put ‘kind regards, Siobhan’ – they engraved that too!!” one person admitted.
“It’s a running joke in the family now lol…!”
“Stop it! I ordered a Costco cake for my daughters 1st birthday… it said 1TH. I wish I was joking,” sighed another.
“Gender reveal for my daughter I put what it will be girl (pink) boy (blue) and yes they wrote it like that,” a third laughed.
“My mom ordered a personalized mug with the name Daryl on it but she put ‘Daryl (one r one l)’ in the request and that’s exactly what they wrote on the mug – ‘Daryl (one r one L)’.”
