I tried the organic condiments and sauces of Glen Powell’s kitchen
Glen Powell knows the power of a good co -star – even those of the plate. The native of Texas has ventured beyond the silver screen and has just launched its own line of organic condiments.
Smash Kitchen, which he co-founded alongside Sameer Mehta and Sean Kane, is the reinvented range of Powell’s classic pantry staples such as ketchup, mustard and barbecue sauce with remixed flavors like Ketchup with organic honey and organic spicy mayonnaise. In the press release from Smash Kitchen, Powell says: “Growing up around epic barbecue festivals in our family ranch in Texas, food has always been an expression of love.” After discovering some of the doubtful ingredients that enter other sauces, the Anyone except you Star wanted to create a “brand of clean condiments” to bring its family meetings instead.
To celebrate the launch of Smash Kitchen on April 2, Powell organized holidays in New York and Los Angeles for his famous friends, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Dylan Sprouse, Barbara Palvin and Jake Shane, as well as other guests to try the full range of eight condiments.
Although I was not available for the launch party, I got my hands on Smash Kitchen to do a taste at home. Each individual article costs around $ 5 now at Walmart and Walmart.com. You will find below my honest examination and my classification of Glen Powell’s Smash Kitchen Condiments:
8. Real biological mayonnaise ($ 4 – $ 5)
There is nothing wrong with this creamy mayonnaise to obtain the lower place of my classification; I’m just not a huge mayonnaise. Apart from organic mayonnaise, made with eggs without cage, it was nothing special in terms of taste. However, I plan to use it on my turkey sandwiches, as well as all the dressings, the potato salads or the stuffed eggs that need it. You can also get it like a bottle of 11.25 ounces or a 16 ounce jar.
Note: 3/5
7. Dijon organic mustard ($ 4)
It was a basic Dijon mustard with nothing too special to bring it out. It’s always delicious and would be so great about a sandwich. Do not expect to taste something super unique, unless you can really make the difference between organic mustard seeds, vinegar and spices.
Note: 4/5
6. Biological spicy mayonnaise ($ 5)
Again, I am not a girly mayonnaise, so I would probably not buy that if I walked in the aisles of my grocery store. However, this has a unique creamy and spicy flavor that would become incredible on a hamburger. He actually has the taste of the sauce that comes to the burgers of the Bero meal kits of Tom Holland from Pizza to Carré Emmy. It would also be fire with fries or toddlers, if you like to have a dipped sauce made from mayonnaise.
Note: 4/5
5. Organic yellow mustard ($ 2 to $ 4)
Is it a basic yellow mustard like French yellow mustard from French? Yes. However, I could really taste organic mustard seeds and vinegar. He also has a beautiful biological texture that gives me the impression of eating something fresh from the farm rather than grocery store. I intend to use this on my sandwiches, my hot dogs this summer and my favorite snack, a sweet Bretzel. The yellow mustard is also available in two sizes, an 8 ounce or 20 ounce bottle, as needed.
Note: 4.25 / 5
4. Ketchup classic organic tomato ($ 3 to $ 4)
It’s weird to give a fourth basic place to the ketchup, but I really enjoyed Powell’s version. He has a taste for the Heinz version, but with a spicy little kick. I noticed the organic vinegar immediately and the chili powder that gave this condiment its subtle bite. It’s not too spicy, however. There is just enough to bring it out among the rest of the ordinary ketchups there. There are bottles of 15 ounces and 20 ounces to use with your fries, hamburgers and hot dogs.

3. American -style organic style barbecue sauce ($ 4)
In a way, I wish Powell has just made a complete collection of barbecue sauces, because as Texan, he really nailed her. The American -style barbecue sauce in this drop has this classic sweet and spicy flavor that works with everything, from pork effiloche to chicken wings. I use it almost every day for sandwiches or barbecue style rice bowls. It has light smoke mixed with the softness of organic cane sugar, molasses and pineapple juice. Speaking of that, I can’t wait to try this on a Hawaiian bbq chicken sandwich with a sliced pineapple grilled this summer.
Note: 4.5
2. Organic hot honey ketchup ($ 4)
As much as I appreciated the ordinary ketchup in the Powell collection, the hot honey ketchup is where it is. This is exactly what I wanted to Powell – alias something unique and delicious. I never had spicy ketchup with such a strong honey flavor, that’s what it is, so bravo for him for having given me something new. It will be difficult for Powell to compete with classic staples such as French mustard and Heinz ketchup, but hot honey ketchup is the place to shine on the shelves of the grocery store.
I cannot overcome how great this smoked and spicy ketchup is with a presence of organic honey as strong on the top. I will immerse all my fries in this area and put it on each hamburger and hot dog that I eat at home.
Note: 5/5
1. Organic hot honey barbecue sauce ($ 4)
Even if the hot honey ketchup was a surprise success that could be my personal choice, this hot honey barbecue sauce is the best in the collection. Powell has the same amount of chemistry with barbecue sauce as with all his co-stars. They just make sense together, and it has a nice mixture of sweet and spicy flavors. It will come with me to each barbecue that I will be invited this spring and this summer.
