Kelly Clarkson spoke about receiving an early diagnosis of diabetes before embarking on her weight loss journey.
The conversation took place during a taping of her talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show” while she was chatting with show guest Kevin James. The comedian and actor was there to promote his new comedy special “Irregardless,” when he mentioned that the singer looked “great.”
“Well, I was told I was pre-diabetic. This is literally what happened. They were like – and I was like, well, I wasn’t shocked,” Clarkson said. “I was a little overweight. But that didn’t shock me. They did, they told me, “You’re pre-diabetic. You are just at the limit. I said to myself: “But I’m not here Again.’ Then I waited two years, and then I said, “Okay, I’m going to do something.” »
Clarkson and her weight loss also became a topic of discussion when she appeared on the “Today” show. At the time, Clarkson said she was taking her health more seriously.
“Walking around town is quite an exercise,” Clarkson said at the time, detailing how she also uses infrared saunas. “And I just had a cold dip because everyone was wearing me out.”
And when it comes to the food she eats, Clarkson previously said she eats a “healthy mix” and hasn’t thrown meat products to the curb.
“I lost weight because I listened to my doctor – for a few years I didn’t. And 90% of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I love meat – sorry, vegetarians everywhere! Clarkson said while adding that she still spoils herself from time to time.
“The other night I had frozen yogurt with my daughter and it was magical.”
For James, whose special airs on Prime on January 23, weight loss has also been a top priority for him, as he makes a film that focuses on getting back into shape for a role he had been filming when he weighed a few kilos. lighter.
James told Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on “The Tonight Show” that he dropped to 230 pounds to play a priest in a “serious” horror movie, then ended up gaining back about 40 to 50 pounds after filming. The problem arose when the production needed to refilm certain scenes.
“We shot it about a year ago, and I thought we were done, and I gained like 40 to 50 pounds, off-season, and they called me back and said, ‘We We have to do some more shots, and I’m like, I don’t know how we’re going to do this unless this priest gets stung by a bee.
He went on to say that the documentary is a “real” project. “So now we’re filming a documentary to see if I can get back into shape,” James said. “It’s the beginning now.”
