Le Freak’s Chicken Burgers Take Diners on a Culinary Journey – The Korea Herald

While most burger restaurants in Seoul pride themselves on their high-quality beef patties and homemade buns, Le Freak takes a different approach by offering an unparalleled gourmet burger.
Le Freak, which opened its first branch in Seongsu in 2019, specializes in chicken burgers.
Its signature Nashville Hot Chicken Burger is a simple chicken burger topped with red slaw and a crispy, fried chicken thigh sprinkled with spicy powder. You can choose between three different spiciness levels. But Le Freak releases a different variety of chicken burgers every month, giving it a Korean twist or a gourmet twist.

June’s special Le Freak burger is the Chicken Diane – a long brioche bun and grilled chicken topped with Diane cream sauce, grilled asparagus, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. Chicken Diane is Le Freak’s 30th special chicken burger.
Some of their previous chicken special burgers used ingredients rarely used in burgers: minari or water celery, cilantro, lotus root chips, and zucchini, to name a few. Plus, the way they cook the chicken for these special burgers is very creative: confit samgye chicken, nurungji chicken, Pad Thai chicken or even Japanese-style chicken tsukune.
Not only do these gourmet burgers look like a satisfying and filling meal, but the way Le Freak experiments with burgers creates a different kind of joy and a sense of anticipation for customers.
Its sides, which also change seasonally, also differentiate Le Freak from other burger restaurants.
Using simple, seasonal ingredients like potatoes, cherry tomatoes, eggplant or butternut squash, the small plates offer a variety of tastes when it might feel like finishing an entire burger is a hassle. few too much.

Of the five side dishes, one or two are “special dishes”, meaning they are only served during that particular month or a little longer. This month’s side menu includes grilled cabbage topped with shredded parmesan and large chunks of bacon.
What is unique inside this American restaurant style interior, decorated in red and black, is that all visitors are offered a hot towel at their table, creating the feeling of being served in a fine dining restaurant . In a similar context, Le Freak offers two kinds of desserts – s’mores and tarts with seasonal fruits like cherry – to ensure that customers finish their meal with a good dessert.
Le Freak currently operates four branches, three in Seoul and one in Daejeon: Seongsu-dong, Yongsan-gu, Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido and Shinsegae Department Store in Daejeon.
Le Freak is open every day except Monday from 11:30am to 9pm, with a break from 3pm to 5:30pm. Find out more on Le Freak’s Instagram, @le_freak_burger
