Wendy Olsoff, co-founder of PPOW, the New York gallery that represents Rodriguez, told ARTnews the situation was similar to when the American Family Association and the Reverend Donald Wildmon went after David Wojnarowicz, whose the estate is also on the gallery’s list.
Wojnarowicz was gay and spoke openly about government ignorance of AIDS, leading some Christian groups to call his art “blasphemous”, the outlet reported.

“With the click of a button, their hateful message of fear, violence, racism, sexism and homophobia can be sent across the country and the world – intended to target people of color, LGBTQAI+, rights women and anyone who does not fall in accordance with their agenda.”
