A Palmerton man has been charged after allegedly threatening to burn down a woman’s house during an argument in Towamensing Township.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed by Trooper Justin Swartz in the case against Shaun Parsons: At approximately 10:10 a.m. on July 14, a woman contacted PSP Lehighton to report dogs on her property in the 100 block of Ziegre Drive and was subsequently threatened by the owner of the dogs.
Around 10:30 a.m., Swartz made contact with the woman, who said she had observed two chocolate Labradors running around on her property before calling.
A man approached in a blue pickup truck and the woman asked if the dogs belonged to him. He replied that they did. The woman told the man that he had to keep the dogs on his property and that if she felt threatened by the dogs, she would shoot them.
The man, Parsons, 34, described as having dark hair and being shirtless, began yelling at the woman and said if she shot his dogs he would burn down his house.
The woman recognized the truck as likely being parked in the 400 block of 57 Drive.
The address is a known address for Parsons and Cheryl Lewis, both of whom had active warrants; Parsons, a Carbon County warrant, and Lewis, a Monroe County warrant.
Swartz observed a juvenile on a couch inside the subject RV. The juvenile stated that the two were inside and would not come out, but allowed police into the RV. The back bedroom was locked.
A search warrant was executed and Lewis and Parsons surrendered.
The search uncovered approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, in bulk and pre-packaged containers, marijuana, pills, psilocybin mushrooms, various items of drug paraphernalia consistent with the sale and use of controlled substances, and identifiable information inside a locked cabinet that also contained a price guide.
Lewis was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility on her outstanding arrest warrant. Parsons was transported to the Carbon County Correctional Facility.
Parsons faces charges of manufacturing, delivering or possessing with intent to manufacture or deliver; terroristic threats; operating a vehicle while licensed under the influence; possession of a controlled substance with intent by an unregistered person; disorderly conduct; marijuana – small amount for personal use; use/possession of drug paraphernalia; and false imprisonment and control.
Parsons is currently in the county jail on $20,000 bail.
