Euronics, in conjunction with the National Plow Association (NPA) and the Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA), are encouraging Mayo bakers to enter this year’s National Brown Bread Baking Competition.
Brown bread is a typical Irish product found in most homes across the country. Everyone has their own recipe and secret ingredient, but can your favorite win the coveted title and will you fight your way to first place?
The winner of this year’s national baking competition will walk away with a €5,000 cash prize and a NEFF oven, while the three finalists will all walk away with a €500 Euronics gift card.
Mayo participants (one entry per person) are invited to drop off their freshly baked bread at one of the following two locations between 9am and 11am on Friday August 2: Kean’s Claremorris, Mount Street, Clare, Claremorris (F12 Y642); or Broderick’s Westport, 5 Castlebar Road, Westport. Bread will not be accepted outside of these hours.
All successful participants will be contacted on August 12 to attend the final. Two semi-finals will take place on September 17 and 18, with the final on the afternoon of September 19 at the National Plowing Championships in Ratheniska, Co Laois.
