McDonald’s unveils limited-time offers: BLT Quarter Pounder, Kit Kat McFlurry, garlic sauce
McDonald’s is gearing up for a busy week with the return of the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese, the launch of the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry and a new premium garlic sauce, developed in partnership with Jujutsu Kaisen, available exclusively through the McDonald’s app.
McDonald’s Brings Back the Smoky Quarter Pounder BLT, Introduces the Kit Kat McFlurry and Garlic Sauce
McDonald’s Quarter Pounder Smoky BLT with Cheese will be reintroduced to the restaurant’s menu, along with the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry and Specialty Garlic Sauce.
As Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN) reported, McDonald’s is gearing up for a busy week with the introduction of three limited-time offerings: the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese, a Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry and the new Specialty Garlic Sauce, developed in partnership with Jujutsu Kaisen.
McDonald’s Japan’s signature black garlic sauce inspired the new garlic sauce launching today on the chain’s app. This is McDonald’s second anime-themed campaign in recent months and is part of the company’s partnership with the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series.
McDonald’s will bring back its Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese for a limited time on July 10. The product launched in 2022 and includes a sesame seed bun, a quarter beef patty, two slices of American cheese, three half-segments of Applewood smoked bacon, three Roma tomatoes, shredded lettuce and smoky BLT sauce. Additionally, a Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder includes two beef patties.
To strengthen its position in the beef market, McDonald’s has made this comeback. Jo Sempels, president of McDonald’s international developed licensed markets, said at the company’s post-2023 investor day that the company had “identified unmet customer needs and a significant opportunity to drive future growth in beef.”
“It’s about the big beef burger consumers and their desire for bigger, higher-quality burgers that fill you up and are delivered in a convenient and affordable way,” he said.
McDonald’s unveils Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry ahead of National French Fry Day celebrations
McDonald’s new Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry, which hits shelves July 10, is a treat that combines vanilla soft serve ice cream with pieces of banana, strawberry and Kit Kat wafer bars. The announcement follows the chain’s recent launch of the Grandma McFlurry, which combines vanilla soft serve ice cream with syrup and chopped candy pieces.
The chain is also gearing up for National French Fry Day on July 13, when app users can receive a free order of any size fries. The event will take place if three LTOs aren’t enough to keep restaurant teams busy. Additionally, McDonald’s $5 meal deal remains in effect.
The meal, introduced in response to declining traffic, includes four Chicken McNuggets, small potatoes, a McDouble or McChicken sandwich and a small soft drink. Gordon Haskett’s preliminary traffic research indicates the $5 meal has driven a modest increase in traffic, with a 1% year-over-year increase in the 11 days ending July 5.
