NEW YORK’S CHEF KWAME ONWUACHI’S TATIANA IS NAMED THE RESY TO WATCH IN 2023 BY THE WORLD’S TOP 50 RESTAURANTS
LONDON, May 25, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Tatiana from New York by Chef Kwame Onwuachi is today named the recipient of the Resy One To Watch World’s Best 50 Restaurant award, in news that was revealed live by the Top 50 organization at a celebratory dinner held at the Tatiana last night. The award recognizes a rising star restaurant that is making waves on the food scene worthy of international acclaim.
The restaurant opened just six months ago, in November 2022at the city’s prestigious Lincoln Center in from manhattan Upper West Side. Named after Onwuachi’s sister, Tatiana celebrate the chef new York education with its heritage as part of the African Diaspora. An inventive menu features dishes ranging from cornbread and cod, with smoked jerk cod, buttermilk sobise and fennel to braised oxtails served with rice and peas, Thumbelina carrot and chayote squash.
A Bronx native, with roots in Nigeria, New Orleans and the Caribbean, Onwuachi was first introduced to cooking by his mother. After training at Culinary Institute of America In new Yorkhe has worked in some of the most renowned restaurants in the world, including Eleven Madison Park and In itself. His impressive resume led him to open five restaurants before the age of 30, including the much-loved Kith/Kin in washington d.c.as well as appearing as a judge in season 18 of excellent leader, having debuted as a contestant on the show about five years prior.
