Birmingham’s vibrant hotel scene is set to welcome some ultra-cool and glamorous new additions. From downtown Birmingham to local neighborhoods, new restaurants and bars are opening their doors with fantastic food and drinks.
We’ve taken a tour of the nine new bars and restaurants that are opening – or have recently opened – in Birmingham. From sushi to pints, these openings offer something for everyone and follow other incredible restaurants and bars that have opened their doors in recent months. Brummies will be spoiled for choice when it comes to socializing options as the nights draw in.
Here are nine new restaurants and bars opening this fall in Birmingham or that have recently opened:
Baloci from the team behind Qavali on Broad Street will be an Indo-Persian boutique hotel, fine dining restaurant and cocktail bar in Edgbaston. Its opening is scheduled for November. The Baloci which should replace The Edgbaston. (Photo – The Baloci)
Gup Shup, which formerly stood in Colmore Row, is now known as Shokupan by Gup Shup. They will serve tasty sandos and hotpots as well as Chai. They will open at Grand Central Station in October 2023. (Photo – FomaA – stock.adobe.com)
From the first week of October, Koba Ko will take over Upstairs Kings Heath above Grace + James for an extended residency over the winter. Not only will they bring classic ramen and small plates, but they will also offer a selection of Japanese drinks including sake, highballs, and amazing natural wines. This award-winning pan-Asian restaurant, Banana Tree, has announced the opening of a new restaurant at Bullring & Grand Central. The brand new restaurant, located on St Martin’s Walk, provides 118 seats and has created 10 new jobs, as well as providing new roles for the Rouge team, previously part of the unit. A hugely popular London nightclub opened its doors on Friday September 16 in Birmingham, bringing a huge live music venue to the city. XOYO Birmingham has taken over three sites, spanning 25 to 28 Lower Trinity St in Digbeth. The Mill is Digbeth is one of the sites that XOYO Birmingham has taken over with a stunning roof terrace.
