Offers, menus, chefs from March 14 to 24
|Have you ever wanted to try a Colombian chorizo hot dog with pickled mustard and Garrotxa cheese shavings? Or how about arancini with salty yolk aioli and pork floss, or vegan coconut laksa with Malaysian spice paste and pulled hodo yuba?
Well, you can consume all of these delicious things during Oakland Restaurant Week 2024, which runs from March 14-24. This year, more than 150 restaurants are participating in the 10-day “week,” during which chefs offer new specialties and prix fixe meal deals to adventurous diners.
The full list of restaurants is posted on the Visit Oakland website (visitoakland.com/events/annual-events/restaurant-week) and can be searched by cuisine type, neighborhood and Michelin recognition. As a reminder, Oakland has 25 Michelin-starred restaurants, Bib Gourmand or recommended by the French restaurant. What better reason to go out and enjoy some awesome meals today?

Lion Dance Cafe
This year, the chefs will offer participating diners a prix fixe dinner menu ($45) including shrimp-free garlic crackers (gluten-free), seasonal market salad (GF), your choice of entrée – laksa, teochew char kway teow or nasi. lemak – and a glass of vegan wine. 380 17th Street, Oakland; liondancecafe.com
Patch
Parche offers a special lunch menu priced at $25 to $35 per person and a dinner menu priced at $65 per person. Lunch includes a house salad or yuca fries, a choice of “sandwich” – arepa con queso, Colombian chorizo hot dog or Coke-braised short ribs – dessert and a non-alcoholic drink.
The dinner menu includes salmon salpicon (tartare), empanada de ajiaco (shredded chicken and capers), aborrajado de platano (sweet plantain fritter with crab), posta negra (braised short rib with Mexican Coke) and dessert. 2295 Broadway, Oakland; parcheoak.com
Jo’s Modern Thai
The restaurant offers a prix fixe dinner ($45) including shrimp mousse toast, vegan coconut cake, massaman curry, drunken noodles, mango sticky rice and panna cotta with Thai tea. 3725 MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland; josmodernthai.com
Viridian
Chef Kevin Tang’s $45 weeklong restaurant dinner menu includes arancini with salted yolk aioli, pork floss and candied leeks, pomegranate mustard green salad, candied cashews and whipped goat cheese, a starter – caramelized cod with fumet, garlic chives oil and spring peas or bo kho (stew) of ribs with carrot-miso puree, Thai basil and crispy crushed fingerling potatoes. 2216 Broadway, Oakland; viridianbar.com.
Brasserie Rive Gauche
The restaurant offers three-course prix fixe menus for lunch ($25) and dinner ($35). The lunch program includes a choice of a starter (soup of the day, green salad or snails with Pernod-garlic butter), a starter (mussels and fries, tuna Niçoise or roast chicken breast) and a dessert (cherry clafoutis or chocolate fondant). bittersweet Christmas Royale).
