Personal Trainer Says Eating Chocolate ‘Won’t Make You Fat’
When it comes to losing weight, many think it’s time to say goodbye to chocolate treats.
In the quest for a slimmer figure, many people are quick to ditch their favorite treats. However, online fitness guru Nathan Joseph has some tantalizing news: chocolate is not the enemy.
He’s not advocating gorging on chocolate bars every night, but he does suggest that indulging in moderate consumption won’t tip the balance – and he has the evidence to prove it.
Nathan took to TikTok to expose the myths surrounding chocolate consumption, delivering a revelation that was as delicious as it was surprising.
To illustrate his point, he calculated the staggering amount of chocolate a person would have to consume to gain just one kilo of fat, and the answer will probably surprise you.
In his viral TikTok video, Nathan explains: “It’s a common misconception that chocolate is fattening. It’s just high in calories, which means you can’t eat a lot of it to get a lot of calories.
“I debunk the most common misconceptions about weight loss every week. If you don’t want to be afraid of eating a chocolate bar every night, you can follow me.
“There are 3,500 calories in a pound of fat, which means you still wouldn’t gain a pound of fat if you ate four large chocolate bars. I’m not telling you to binge on chocolate morning, noon and night.
“This is to show you that on days when you want a little chocolate, it’s not going to kill you.”
Nathan stressed that his message is not an invitation to binge on chocolate all the time, but rather a reminder that occasional indulgences will not lead to “crazy” weight gain.
He explained that you would need to eat seven large chocolate bars on top of your daily calorie intake to gain one kilo of fat. So if you fancy a treat every now and then, there’s no need to feel “guilty”.
Since sharing his post, it has received over 100,000 likes and numerous comments. As expected, many were delighted with the news.
One person said, “Thank you so much, you’re the first person to put it that way.” Another person commented, “The first person in fitness who doesn’t set people up for failure. That’s a great idea.”
A third added: “I love chocolate. I’ve lost 9st 7lbs and I still eat chocolate regularly.”
According to NHS guidelines, sugary foods such as chocolate, cakes and biscuits can be eaten in moderation. Although these foods are “not necessary in our diet”, they should be eaten less frequently and in smaller portions.
Yet, they are delicious and everyone deserves to indulge once in a while. Now you know that you can indulge once in a while and still lose weight. After all, it’s all about balance.
