Petaluma introduces the “first” plant-based dog food designed for senior dogs

US dog nutrition brand Petaluma announces the launch of its first senior dog food formula. Designed specifically for the needs of senior dogs, Baked Pumpkin Peanut Butter flavor is formulated by veterinarians to provide “anti-aging” nutrients for senior dogs.

According to Petaluma, its new formula is “the first” plant-based dog food specifically for senior dogs. Made with functional ingredients like peanut butter, applesauce, and odor-fighting herbs, the new Baked Pumpkin Peanut Butter flavor also includes DHA omega-3s from algae oil, curcumin extract from turmeric, dietary fiber from pumpkin and plant-based glucosamine.

Petaluma says its evidence-based formula provides complete nutrition while addressing common health issues such as inflammation, digestion, mobility, and healthy weight.

Sustainable alternative

Founded by Garrett Wymore and Caroline Buck, Petaluma produces a range of “Durable, oven-baked dog food and treats. THE original company croquettes, available in a sweet potato and peanut butter flavor, has been formulated with veterinarians to provide a nutritionally complete alternative to conventional meat-based kibbles. To create its products, the company claims to source carefully selected ingredients from organic farms.

Earlier this year, Petaluma made its physical debut at Erewhon Markets in Southern California. The Petaluma Baked Pumpkin and Peanut Butter flavor for seniors will be available at feedpetaluma.com in five and 18 pound bags.
