Popular Detroit 75 Kitchen food truck plans brick-and-mortar location

Detroit 75 Kitchen is known for attracting hungry customers from all over the southwestern Detroit gas station where their food trailer is parked.

Now the family brand has announced plans to expand to a second location in Troy. The upcoming Detroit 75 Kitchen is taking place at the old Sears Auto Center on 14 Mile in Troy, near the Oakland Mall. Co-owner and chef Mike Nassar, who runs the business with his brother Ahmad Nassar, broke the news on Instagram Thursday.

“It will be a full-service Detroit 75 kitchen, exactly what you expect when you come to southwest Detroit,” the chef said in a video. He said that, like their original location on Fort Street, they are looking for places that need food and have people to feed, adding that the Sears building had sat empty for too long.

“We are looking for underrepresented areas and underserved communities. We are not looking for a shining diamond.”

More updates will be available later this summer.

Popular items on the menu are pressed sandwiches like 3rd Street Cheesesteak, Atwater Chicken, and Fisher Fwy. Fish, sold Friday with your choice of Wild Catfish or Lake Erie Walleye.
