Subway Adds New Sandwiches, Including Spicy Nacho Chicken: Check Out the Latest Menu Additions

Subway announced “significant updates” to its menu Tuesday, including three new signature sandwiches and a new crunchy topping.

The sandwich chain also announced the return of its sweet and tangy BBQ sauce after a three-year hiatus. The sauce features “familiar notes of hickory smoke, black pepper, red pepper and warm spices,” according to a company press release.

Subway also unveiled an all-new cheddar sauce, a “smooth, creamy blend of sharp cheddar, American cheese and a hint of Parmesan,” according to the press release.

The three new sandwiches in the Subway series are:

  • Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken: Rotisserie-style chicken topped with Monterey cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and pickles, drizzled with honey mustard and Subway’s smoky barbecue sauce.

  • Spicy Nacho Chicken: Rotisserie style chicken topped with green peppers, red onions, jalapeños, SubKrunch and finished with cheddar cheese sauce and creamy Siracha sauce for an extra kick.

  • Cheese and Garlic Steak: Savory sliced steak topped with green peppers, red onions and SubKrunch, drizzled with roasted garlic aioli and cheddar cheese sauce.

“Subway’s new menu update is focused on delivering exceptional flavor at a great value and giving our guests new ways to take their foot-long sandwiches and snacks to the next level,” Paul Fabre, Subway’s senior vice president of culinary innovation, said in the press release.

Subway Introduces SubKrunch, a New Sandwich Topping

The sandwich chain also launched SubKrunch, a crunchy topping that customers can get on any sandwich, wrap or salad.

“These crispy pieces were developed to add an audible crunch to every bite, coated in a flavorful seasoning and then fried to perfection,” the company said in the press release.

Subway launched Footlong Dippers last month

The new menu additions come about a month after Subway unveiled Footlong Dippers, which the company describes as “cheesy, mouthwatering snacks” that have joined the restaurant’s Sidekicks menu.

Dippers are made with swirled melted cheese, meat and are rolled in Subway’s signature flatbread. They come in three varieties and are served with one of Subway’s 11 signature sauces. They are available for $3 at Subway restaurants nationwide.

Subway announced Tuesday the launch of all new Footlong Dippers, available at restaurants nationwide.

The three varieties of Dippers include:

  • Pepperoni and cheese

  • Chicken and cheese

  • Double cheese
