A popular downtown Davenport restaurant is closing its doors at the end of the month.
Taste of Ethiopia, 102 S. Harrison Street, will close June 30 after being in business since 2016. Owners George and Genet Moraetes took to Facebook this week to announce they are retiring to travel and spend more time with their friends and family.
The post goes on to say that the good news is that a new restaurant, I Love Fufu, will be taking over the location. The Iowa City-based restaurant also specializes in African cuisine and will add popular Ethiopian dishes to the menu.
“We will be staying for a few months to help the new owners during the transition. So please come and wish us well as we retire and meet the new owners Regina and Julius,” the Moraetes wrote in their post. “They are very good people and we hope you will support them as you have supported us since the day we opened.”
