The FDA announces the recall of agricultural animal food due to “high copper levels”
A particular type of livestock supply has been recalled to have high levels or nutrient deficient.
ADM Animal Nutrition, whose headquarters are in Illinois, recalls 33 different lots of their pellet animal products, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Wednesday.

Certain products purchased from January 16 to February 27 sold in Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Iowa, Georgia and Ohio are affected by the recall.

“They can contain high copper levels or have zinc levels below the amounts represented which could be harmful to cattle,” said the ad.
Certain impacts of chronic toxicity are anorexia, abdominal pain, dehydration, diarrhea and depression.

In a statement sent to Fox News Digital, Adm Animal Nutrition said that the problem had since been corrected and that they have been working “with diligence” to recall all the products that have been affected.
“Adm Animal Nutrition has offered safe and nutritious food and food ingredients for over 100 years, and the safety of our products is our absolute priority,” read the press release.
ADM added: “We worked in close collaboration with the FDA concerning an identified manufacturing problem in February 2025 which made that certain minerals are present in foods assigned to different levels of what is shown on the product label.”
