When her 2 -year -old son Maxwell began to show his love for cake pops, the owner of Crumb Pops, Joyelle Coley, could not have imagined that her bakery products would be presented on Good Morning America a year after opening.
“He has always been in love with cakes,” said Coley about Maxwell. “It was something he could assemble at any age and be a funny activity that was easy.”
The storefront of Crumb Pops opened in November 2023 and shared a building with a living room in Duncansville. With a team of around 10 people, ranging from full -time bakers to the family that helps, the store started by selling about 25 different cake cake flavors that customers would order on a kiosk. Coley said customers “compose a box” of what they wanted “as at Dunkin ‘Donuts”.
Some of their original flavors include Butterfinger, key lime pie, Foster bananas and thin mint, said Coley.
This is not Coley’s first foray into the food sector, because she and her ex-husband previously owned a restaurant together. Coley said she was also part of the Food Network about 10 years ago, then sold “delicious gastronomic rum cakes” on QVC.

“I loved it, it was wonderful,” said Coley. “Then life bothered.”
When she returned to the food sector, Coley chose to focus on Cake Pops the second time.
“I wanted to do it in a different form,” said Coley. “I wanted something that was not seasonal, that everyone could appreciate, which was versatile.”
Crumb Pops has always sold the boxes selected by Cake Pop customers from its brick and mortar location, but its pop kits, which will be presented on Good Morning America’s offers and Steals Segment at 1:30 p.m. today, were presented a few months ago.
“(Maxwell) loved it (making cakes),” said Coley. “It was a fun idea, and we wanted to be able to ship them. We did not have this capacity before because our POPS cakes were cracking and they would melt, but in this way, we could ship them without assembly. »»

Pop cake kits have all included, such as cake balls that have already been baked, chocolate coating and sequins. Coley said they had taken their successful successful cake themes and had created kits.
“There are pops with gender revelation cakes where the savings package is blue or pink, but you don’t know before opening and sprinkling it,” said Coley. “There is a theme of engagement with candy alliances. They are for all events in life, so to speak. »»
While Coley is satisfied with the “little storefront of the small town of Crumb Pops where we are only open a few days a week”, she said “that does not do for us”.
“We wanted to do more,” said Coley. “When we got our hands out and we were picked up by Good Morning America to make the offers and flights segment, it was great. We thought “brilliant, we are going to be exposed at the national level”. »»
To participate in a show like Good Morning America, Coley said that she “had to give them a field” and that he was “very similar to having to sell something via QVC or Shark Tank”. She heard in a month or two, she said.
“It was very exciting,” said Coley. “I probably felt two things: excitement and a little nervousness came into play because that’s what I wanted, but now I have to prepare myself and there are a lot to prepare.”
The preparation started in October, just after Coley discovered that the cake pop kits are in the series, and they have since prepared thousands of units. Coley said Good Morning America will have a limited supply to customers to buy at a reduced price for 48 hours after the segment is broadcast.
“They are not only sold (Good Morning America), but also on our own site,” said Coley, adding that Crumb Pops has a pickup option, prolonged vacation hours and a prolonged inventory.
Coley hopes to feed on the success of Crumb Pops pop kits and use the store’s complete commercial bakery, which is delivered with a machine that “cuts and rolls (cake) in cake balls”, making “thousands of cake cakes an hour”.
“I had an idea for this company, I created it and I opened it,” said Coley. “My whole reflection process was” I want us to go on a national scale. I want us to go big and be ready. “”
Coley found a niche for herself on the market, because there are no other pop cake kits without cooking there.
“It took this process completely, but allowed people to be always creative,” said Coley.
The vision could not have “materialized” without the encouragement and support of Coley’s family, as well as “the hard work that everyone has put”.
“I am proud of my employees,” said Coley. “There is no better word for that than excitement, especially for an entrepreneur.”
