The new Tiktok trend sees influencers eating cheese after training
Finishing your training session and looking for a protein bar can be a standard post-training nutrition protocol for us, but influencers on Tiktok have exchanged their bars for parmesan blocks. Not having been put off by the spicy smell, the trend is mainly followed by those who are fans of the carnivorous diet, who say that Opt for Parmesan is a “healthier” way of achieving your protein goals.
But how is it really whey up? We give to our MH Verdict on the advantages of the health trend, muscle growth and weight loss goals.
Parmesan cheese vs protein bars
Content creators believe that parmesan macros are superior to the protein bars and that the parmesan has better than any protein market on the market. ” Take a look:
Parmesan cheese, 100 grams:
Killa pomegranate protein bar, 100 grams:
- Calories: 370-376 kcal
- Protein: 33g
- Net carbohydrates (excluding polyols): 6-7g
- Sugar: 2.2-2.5g
- Game: 15-16g
- Saturated fat: 8.5-9g
- Fiber: 4.1-5.7g
- Salt: 0.14-0.48g
As we can see in nutritional values, parmesan and protein bars differ slightly in composition. Parmesan cheese is higher in calories, rich in protein and fat, with a minimum of carbohydrates and is a considerably higher salt and saturated fats. On the other hand, the protein bars are a little lower in calories – they are always rich in protein, although a little lower than the parmesan – and have fewer fat but more carbohydrates.
THE MH Verdict
Most influencers opt for Parmesan because it is an “whole food” and lower in carbohydrates. Although it can have fewer ingredients, the more salt and saturated fats do not make the healthier option. Consumed in large quantities, saturated fats and salt have been linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease. The protein bars are practical, lower in calories, fats and still rich in protein.
The two choices will support your muscle construction objectives because of their protein content. However, if you have weight loss goals, protein bars would probably be the best choice due to the lower calorie content.
The choice between parmesan and protein bars depends on your objectives and preferences. Ideally, the two are better appreciated in moderation, and the emphasis on low fat protein sources in a well -balanced diet is preferable for optimal health and muscle growth.
