What is the ketogenic diet?
The ketogenic diet – keto, for short – is a high-fat, low-carb eating style that tricks the body into burning fat instead of carbs for fuel. When the body relies on fat for energy, it is said to be in a state called ketosis. With a standard diet, the body uses the carbohydrates we eat to fuel everything from our muscles to our brain. But on keto diets, you eat lots of fat and protein and virtually no sugar or starch. This essentially forces your body to extract energy from fat and turn it into an alternative fuel called ketones. “As ketones are produced, you go from burning primarily sugar to burning primarily fat,” Gittleman says.
Faster fat burning isn’t the only benefit of keto diets. Studies show that increasing your ketone levels can boost immunity, improve mental clarity, and increase energy. Additionally, keto diets have been linked to less arthritis pain, fewer asthma symptoms, and regression of diabetes.
How Short Bouts of Keto Boost Weight Loss
There’s no need to give up carbs long-term, says Gittleman. And research from Yale University backs it up, suggesting that short bouts of keto sustainably boost metabolism and protect against sugar-related health problems. “I’ve found that using a healthy keto plan for five days to five weeks yields amazing results,” Gittleman shares. And studies show that even just 24 hours on the keto diet helped subjects burn nearly 300 extra calories. (Click to learn more about how to use keto bursts for weight loss.)
Not only can fat burning speed up, stopping excess blood sugar helps your body heal and rejuvenate cells. “So when you start incorporating more healthy carbs, you manage them better and continue to lose weight,” says Gittleman. Why keto detox soup works well for weight loss
Keto Detox Soup takes food math out of the equation, leaving you with a simple plan that can help melt away stress and fat. “You just eat soup and other simple foods,” says Gittleman, who adds that not having to count or track your diet makes the plan even easier.
Additionally, when the body reaches ketosis, it begins to burn much more fat, making weight loss almost effortless. Plus, research from Stanford shows that the biggest losers are those who consume fewer calories on keto diets, which soup can help you achieve. How? Landmark research from Penn State found that the unique suspension of solids in hot broth triggers the body to release special hormones that reduce appetite by about 400 calories per day. This way, you are relieved of the urge to snack and overdo it during meals. Additionally, eating less keto means your body relies almost entirely on stored fat for fuel.
