Unique and Weird Foods to Try at K-Days 2024

K-Days has a reputation to uphold between the rides, music, and some weird foods for attendees to try and this year will be no different.

K-Days’ unique cuisine is a must-try, from cotton candy tacos to octopus lollipops and cheesy ramen corn dogs.

With just over a week to go until K-Days 2024, the festival has announced some of the new foods that will be available at this year’s New Food Contest.

Pickles seem to be the theme this year, including Triple Pickle Poutine, Dill Pickle Cotton Candy, Pickle Fries Poutine, Big Dill Hot Dog, Twisted Pickle and Ultimate Pickle Poutine.

K-Day Food: Kabayaki Omurice Eel. (K-Days)

Too many pickles? Maybe some eel omurice kabayaki, marinated eel on a Japanese rice omelette, would be the perfect remedy.

If you need to get moving to burn off all those calories, opt for the Wok-n-Go Locos, which are noodles and nachos in a bag filled with corn and dumplings. The street food-inspired combo we didn’t know K-Days needed until it arrived.

Other savory treats include sweet chili chicken pierogi, Korean waffle burgers, Korean barbecue fries, a cornbread hot dog, mini Takis donuts and a giant mozzarella stick on a stick.

Need some fruit in your fruit ice cream? Grab some mango ice cream sandwiched between watermelon wedges topped with tajin spices and a mango wedge.

To tempt your sweet tooth, a fried Oreo ice cream sandwich, pineapple tiramisu, sour candy soft serve ice cream, coconut donuts and a Long John donut grilled cheese sandwich will also delight your taste buds.

Is a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon or pulled pork a sweet or savory food? Only tasters can tell for sure.

To wash it all down, you could and should drink water, but there will also be mango, aloe vera lemonade, aloha lemonade, and mango coconut sago.

Local judges will vote for the foods for Best Savory Dish, Best Sweet Dish, Best Drink and the People’s Choice Award.

K-Days runs from July 19th to 28th.
