US fast food chain ‘better than McDonald’s’ makes major change to its UK menu
From Popeyes to Wendy’s, a number of popular American fast food chains have taken the UK by storm in recent years.
Among them is Taco Bell, a Mexican-inspired fast food brand that enjoys a cult following in the United States for its tacos, burritos and quesadillas.
The chain arrived in the UK in 1986, but closed in the 1990s before relaunching in the 2010s. The first relaunched London restaurant opened in 2018 and there are now more than 130 branches across the country.
Fans on social media hailed it as “better than McDonald’s”, with some proclaiming it “the perfect drink” and saying it was “phenomenal”.
So it’s likely that many will be delighted to hear that it has launched several new items on its UK menu, including a limited edition burrito, as well as a £3.99 lunch deal.
Customers can now order a Beef Fries Burrito, featuring seasoned beef, seasoned fries, hot nacho cheese sauce and creamy chipotle sauce, all wrapped in a classic toasted flour tortilla.
Prices start at just £1.99 for the burrito alone, making it a great value meal choice.
The menu also features a Cravings Lunch Deal, which includes a new burrito offering. For £3.99, customers can get the Beefy Fries burrito, classic fries and a classic soft drink.
The deal is available from 11am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. And if you’re a Taco Bell loyalty member, it’s even cheaper, at just £3.49 when you order on the app.
Or, if you’re really hungry, you can upgrade to the Deluxe Box for £9.99, which gets you the Beefy Fries Burrito, a crunchy taco, regular fries or nachos, nacho cheese sauce, churros and caramel dip, and a regular soft drink.
And, great news for cheese lovers, Taco Bell has also added an XL offering of its Nacho Cheese Sauce to the menu.

American fast food chains have been trying to establish themselves in the British food market for several months.
Dave’s Hot Chicken, which specializes in Nashville-style hot chicken, has just signed a deal with the Azzurri Group to open 60 locations across the country.
Azzurri currently operates several major brands in the UK including Zizzi, ASK Italian, Coco di Mama and Boojum.
The full list of Dave’s branches has yet to be confirmed, but the first branch is expected to open in London early 2025.
Dave’s Hot Chicken started in East Hollywood in 2017, when four friends who loved chicken tenders scraped together enough money ($900) to buy a fryer and start a pop-up business in a parking lot.
They started serving Nashville-style hot chicken and soon people were flocking to try it, along with Duck, Samuel L. JacksonAnd Bailiff all of whom are among the brand’s biggest fans and investors in the company.
Interestingly, the menu only offers two chicken dishes (tenders and sliders, sandwiches) along with a range of sides including fries, cheese fries, mac and cheese, and kale salad. You can also order combinations of these dishes to make a more substantial meal.
Customers can customize their order by selecting a spice level for the dish, from no heat at all to “Reaper” which is so hot you have to sign a waiver before you’re allowed to eat it.
