US ‘McDonald’s of the Sea’ promises to beat the British chippies before the launch of the United Kingdom
There has been an apparently endless flow of chicken chains that has been established in the United Kingdom lately – Dave hot chicken with MB chicken and good bird.
But fast food fans are finally entitled to something a little different in the United Kingdom, because a chain that has been nicknamed “McDonald’s of the SEA” will come here soon.
The captain was founded in 1969 in Nashville, in Tennessee and opened more than 530 restaurants across the United States. He specializes in seafood, with everything, from catfish to butterfly shrimp on the menu, as well as classics such as fish and beaten fries.
The Captain D menu also offers fish sandwiches as well as sides such as corn on cob, oven potatoes, green beans and fried Gombo. And fans seem to love silent puppies particularly – boules fried of foliage of corn served hot and crisp.
This summer, the channel will go through the pond to launch its very first British site in Kent, which will start to serve customers in August.
The captain of signed an agreement of 20 units with CD’s Holdings for the United Kingdom with restaurants also planned for Sussex and Hampshire later this year.
Speaking on the launch, Naveed Chattha, director of operations at CD’s Holdings, said: “ We have looked for the right brand to present the British market, which is exciting and healthy.
“There is a large fish market and fries in the United Kingdom, but no one has tried to apply discipline, standards and quality at such a level here before. With our experience, we believe that Captain D is the right choice.
We are sure that people behind the top 50 best dishes at the Fish and Chip in the United Kingdom may have some things to say about this declaration. But anyway, moving on to something else …
What do food customers really think at Captain D?
Like most fast food spots, the captain received online mixed criticism, especially on Reddit and Tripadvisor. Some people have marked him “so” and “disappointing”, while others “love” and say that it is their “favorite”.
The most interesting commentary comes from a tripadvisor critic known only under the name of Florida_Sugar_Daddy who nicknamed the “McDonald’s of the Sea” captain.
They wrote: “It is the McDonald’s seafood and they are doing a great job. The Sebring store is clean and well maintained with a nice and helpful staff who bring you your food quickly and the prices are good.
PAG057 felt in the same way, saying: “We always like to stop at Captain D. Food is always good, the service is excellent and the price seems right.
And Pjsteeby said: `Fast Food never tasted so good and served so quickly with a smile! We visit every week and are never disappointed!
Others said it was the “best seasick -catering fruits” they met, and better than another rival American channel known as Long John Silver’s.
However, not everyone felt so warmly about Captain D, because Barbara K thought it was “another average fast food chain”. She posted: “The food was prepared quickly, but it is not so tasty and is often quite fatty.”
While 910PEGGY agreed, sharing: “It was a standard rate. Good fast food but nothing special.
A user known as the Ctagent added: “The fish looked like a good thing for lunch, so we stopped here. The catfish flour contained three very small pieces of net, is certainly not worth the price. The fish soaked in the dough was an average tasting. The broccoli was non -edible: too cooked, rubber and burnt tasting.
In other fast food news, McDonald’s recently announced that it was going to make a major change in its Happy Meals in the United Kingdom for the first time, and the beloved channel has also launched the famous Shamrock Shake here for the first time.
Burger King unveiled some modifications to its most legendary menu element, while Subway decided to start selling jacket potatoes, because why not?!
