Braum’s isn’t as well-known as some of the others on this list, but anyone who lives in the Southwest region knows about this popular Oklahoma-based restaurant chain. They offer burgers, shakes, and ice creams, and even have a small grocery store in the restaurants. They stick has Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and Arkansas due to the location of the dairy. Whataburger in California

The most popular restaurant on this list, Whataburger, surprisingly doesn’t have a location in California. Anyone who has lived in or been to the Southern United States will probably agree that Whataburger is one of the best burgers around and one of the best fast food chains. They’re open 24 hours a day, which appeals to young people and travelers, and they have some of the best greasy food you can find. There’s been a debate for years between In-N-Out and Whataburger, despite being such polar opposites. Whataburger would probably thrive in the Golden State, but for now, they’re sticking to the southern part of the country.

No Bojangles in California

Bojangles is one of the most popular fried chicken fast food chains in the East. It originated in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has over 800 different locations, but none of them are in the Golden State. The chain is primarily present in the East, with a few locations in the middle part of the country, making it unlikely that they will ever expand across the country, but if you ever find yourself on the East Coast, be sure to get a Bojangles.
