You have questions ? MSU Breakfast Series Addresses Agricultural Issues

It’s not too late to join Michigan State University Extension. Virtual Breakfast Series on Field Cropswhich is a live weekly series designed to provide timely and relevant information to field crop farmers, while providing a connection to MSU specialists.
The series began its seventh season in March and will continue until September 19.
Topics covered so far have included the unusually warm spring, late season frosts, alfalfa weevil and weed management, to name a few. As each season unfolds, different challenges present themselves.
The breakfast series is designed to keep growers, consultants, retailers and other agriculture professionals informed, all for one hour each week.
Participants can join in from almost anywhere for topics and a quick weather update. Additionally, Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) credits and Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) continuing education units are available to live participants.
Previous topics have been recorded and are available online.
Here is the schedule for each event:
7 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. Topic programmed by MSU Extension specialists and educators.
7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.. Weather with Jeff Andresen.
7:30 a.m. to 7:35 a.m. RUP and CCA credits.
7:35 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Questions and answers with MSU Extension specialists and educators.
Here are the topics scheduled by date:
June 20. Irrigation management.
June 27. Update on beneficial insects and the corn borer.
4th July. Disabled
11 July. Cercospora for sugar beets.
July 18. White mold – tar stain spraying – will it pay?
July 25. Question-and-answer session on current topics.
1st of August. Cover crops after wheat.
August 8. MSU Diagnostic Lab Subjects.
August 15th. Update on field crop nematodes.
August 22. Lime recommendations for field crops.
August 29. Maximize wheat yield potential.
September 5. Saturated buffers – a two-for-one.
September 12. Marketing of cereals.
September 19. End of season weed control.
A one-time registration is required to receive an email notification with instructions to join the virtual breakfast series for free. Participants will receive the Zoom link and call-in phone number, and can access the series using a computer, tablet, mobile device or regular phone line. Weekly reminders will be sent every Wednesday and Thursday. Participants receiving emails can subscribe or unsubscribe at any time.
For those new to Zoom, download the Zoom app. A call-by-phone option is also available, but note that you will only hear the audio portion. The recordings will be subtitled and available at Virtual breakfast on major crops MSU Extension Field Crops team webpage and social media platforms: Facebook, Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts and Twitter.
However, only live sessions will be eligible for RUP and CCA credits.
