International Women’s Day 2024: Easy Dessert Recipes to Cherish Your Wife, Girlfriend, Mother and Sister

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and contributions of the women who have supported and motivated you in your life. So make sure you try to spend this day spending time with them. And what better way to honor the women in your life than by treating them to something sweet and delicious? These recipes are by Tarla Dalal, Nisha Madhulika and Lauren Allen. Whether you’re celebrating Women’s Day with your mother, sister, wife or girlfriend, these easy dessert recipes are sure to impress and delight:

Ingredients for mini chocolate mousse cups:

  • 2 cups of crème fraîche
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1/3 cup of milk
  • 1 cup chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 cup gelatin

How to make mini chocolate mousse cups:

1. In a bowl, mix the gelatin with three times its volume of water, making sure to mix well. Cover the bowl and heat in a bain-marie or microwave for two minutes.

2. For the ganache, put the dark chocolate and cream in a bowl. Place the bowl over a double boiler and stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

3. In another bowl, mix the crème fraîche, milk and chocolate in a bain-marie until the mixture is liquid. Then delicately incorporate the whipped cream.

4. Mix the ganache with the cream mixture, making sure to incorporate it well.

5. Finally, add the gelatin mixture and mix well. Pour the resulting mixture into the desired containers and refrigerate until the mixture is set. Once set, take it out of the refrigerator.

6. Garnish with some chopped strawberries and serve.

2. Kesar Kheer Recipe

Ingredients for Kesar Kheer Recipe:

  • 1 liter of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup rice, washed, drained and soaked for one hour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • A pinch of saffron strands (kesar)
  • 1/4 cup chopped dried fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder

How to Prepare Kesar Kheer Recipe:

1. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, boil the milk over medium heat.

2. Once the milk boils, add the soaked rice and stir well.

3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the rice cook in the milk, stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Cook until the rice becomes tender and the milk thickens, which may take about 20 to 25 minutes.

4. Once the rice is cooked and the mixture has thickened, add the sugar and the soaked saffron as well as the milk in which it was soaked. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

5. Add chopped dry fruits and cardamom powder to the kheer. Mix well and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.

6. Turn off the heat and let the kheer cool for a few minutes.

7. Transfer the kheer to serving bowls. Garnish with a few sprigs of saffron or chopped walnuts, if desired.

8. Serve Kesar Kheer warm or chilled, depending on your preference.

3. Vanilla Cake

Ingredients for the vanilla mug cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of sprinkles
  • Sitting to taste

How to make a vanilla mug cake

1. First mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a cup and mix well.

2. Add the milk, melted butter and vanilla extract and stir until the mixture is smooth, scraping the bottom of the cup. Add the sprinkles.

3. Microwave on high for 70 to 90 seconds until the cake is just set, with a light frosting on top.

4. Let stand for a minute in the microwave before serving.
