Steadfast Nutrition campaigns for an ‘Anemia-Free She’ on Women’s Day

Mumbai: Steadfast Nutrition, a well-known sports nutrition and wellness brand, has launched a 360-degree campaign ‘Anemia-Free She’ ahead of Women’s Day to raise awareness about the serious problem of iron deficiency anemia among Indian women . The campaign highlights the symptoms of anemia, as they are quite insidious and therefore often remain overlooked and underdiagnosed until the disease worsens, encourages women to seek medical attention as soon as they experience symptoms. symptoms and urges them to fight anemia with iron-rich products. foods and supplements. 57 percent of women in the age group of 15 to 49 years are anemic, according to the National Family Health Survey 2019-21.

Steadfast Nutrition reached out to people through a story featuring a resilient woman’s fight and victory against iron deficiency anemia. The video touches the audience through the moving journey of the protagonist, a young woman full of dreams, passionate about her career and who juggles work and relationships until an unexpected adversary threatens to confuse her ambitions: anemia iron deprivation. It shows how distraught she is in her career and personal life by symptoms which she initially dismisses until they worsen, leading to an inability to cope with daily tasks. The video shows her transformation and empowerment after visiting a doctor, who diagnosed her with anemia and advised her to take iron-rich foods and supplements. After a few months, she can again succeed in her work and enjoy the pleasures of life with renewed vigor.

Steadfast Nutrition also ran a campaign with four NGOs in Delhi NCR (Niveda Foundation, Sashakt Foundation, Sakshi-HUL Nutrition and Education Center and Setu Foundation) with a nutritionist educating around 400 adolescent girls and adult women on the causes , symptoms and methods. to treat iron deficiency anemia and also on ways to prevent HPV, one of the leading causes of cancer among women in India. Four athlete influencers associated with the brand provided women with a holistic health plan and gave them confidence-building measures and ways to navigate a patriarchal society. The company also distributed free iron supplements to women in NGOs.

Commenting on the campaign, Steadfast Nutrition Founder Aman Puri said, “Anemia is a silent and underdiagnosed problem that is holding back the good health of women and girls in India and around the world. Many people who are anemic or have low iron levels are unaware of their problem. Through video and NGO campaigns, we wanted to raise awareness among women struggling with this health problem and not realizing that what they feel – unexplained weakness, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, excessive hair loss and pale skin – are signs of iron deficiency, as symptoms may be subtle or dismissed as due to other problems. Our campaign also offers solutions to combat anemia through iron-rich foods, vitamin C which boosts iron absorption, and iron supplements. This will also contribute to the national health goal of ‘Anemia Mukt Bharat’.

Steadfast Nutrition also organized a pan-India quiz through its social media channels to shed light on anemia by engaging the public and highlighting the preventive measures, nutrients and supplements required to overcome the health problem.

This is the third year in a row that the brand is running a campaign on Women’s Day to raise awareness about iron deficiency anemia and the nutritional support needed to treat it.

The campaign’s underlying theme, Iron Women, each year focuses on the resilience and inner strength of women and the need to equip them with good health.
