In last night’s episode, the contestants were tasked with creating a standout fish dish inspired by the Olympics and Paralympics.

The chefs were all hoping to cook at a banquet to wish Team GB athletes good luck as they head to Paris 2024.

However, it was Kirk’s plant-based dish that stole the show and made him the winner of the challenge.

The judges gave him a score of 10 for his “Celebration of Table Tennis” meal.

But viewers remained furious and took to social media to express their frustration, with many saying a vegan dish had no place in winning a fish-themed challenge.

Some even claimed the show had “lost its way” and called it “boring.”

On X/Twitter, a fan wrote: “Fish of course. The clue is in the name. Stop calling it a fish dish, it doesn’t contain fish. It’s the culinary version of Habits neuf of the emperor. Absolutely crazy.”

A second added: “Bring back the original judges, this group is humiliating.” »

A third fumed: “Hmm. I understand all the reasons, but a fish dish on the banquet menu without fish? No matter how good the dish is, how does that work?”

Big British Menu viewers stunned by starter’s brutal reviews as everyone fails to impress

A fourth raged: “Maybe it’s me, but #GreatBritishMenu seems to get lost. Horrible dishes, judges try to get by. Lack of respect for specifications, etc. Is it time for this once great competition to take a little rest?

A fifth added: “Getting rid of Andi would be a good start. I’m not sure we should have a theme every year. Just let the chefs cook their best dishes.”

Despite the negative reactions, the judges praised the dish for its flavors and presentation.

Last month, fans of the series weren’t thrilled to see it return to screens for this is the 19th releasebecause they complained about certain “absurd” dishes.

Fans were left disappointed as they started complaining about the “ridiculous” food served on the show.
